If your young, like below 25, you would be better off getting a job delivering pizza and going to college part time...when your 30 you will thank yourself for it..

In over the road trucking...you will give up more than half your life to the road...and no one will ever thank you for it...pilots, and loves and ta lounges will become your sarogate homes...and out of shape hairy people will be your scenery...

DOT will constantly harace you...

Anyways...like I said...none of this is in order...I just had to let it all out...

Again, it all depends on where your at mentally, and what you want out of life...your needs at the moment...

But some of the veteran drivers feel held hostage to this industry...the white coller world won't take you in, and so when you return to trucking, you choice of companies that you can still work for becomes less and less appealing...

Kinda like being forced back into kindergarden as an adult...many of these companies treat you like that...

If your in your 30 or 40's or 50's, it's hard to go back to living in a fiberglass box...a dirty truck, with crud and all in every crack and crevice...

And I conclude with how I began....don't let trucking become a sand trap for you....

I am suppose to be taking a job as a caution driver. I own my truck and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some lights that isn't gonna break the bank. I have lights on it now but they don't seem to be very bright and I'd like to get new ones. Also are there any new regulations on the size of light I have to use. I looked at classifieds on the internet and found a site that I think would be good but I'm still unsure about size.http://www.autowarninglig hts.com/cube-magnetics.html

BEWARE TRUCKERS!!!
If you ever have to stop in Cheyenne, WY, steer clear of the Crossroads Cafe at the Exxon Fuel Stop east of Chey by the Home Depot on E. Lincolnway (old Hiway 30). Terrible food and snottiest waitresses in the country! The whole place is a rat hole!!

1-Scam lease purchase program. 2-Steal all your money and under pay for trip loads. 3-Keep your truck in red so you can owe them money each week and have no pay check. They have drivers who have received no pay checks for months, drivers who lost their homes, drivers are threatened with bad DAC reports if they don’t do what they ask regardless of safety and the law. These people are scam artist and organized crime comes to mind when you do some checking. Check them out on the web.

Do not work there they will rip you off, turnover rate is 98% they bring in 8 to 16 new drivers a week and only operate 189 trucks a roll over scam no money no pay and the worst safety rating of any company with D.O.T. check it out a the U.S. D.O.T. web site. They lease the same trucks over and over and are making a killing of f the sweat of hard working people.

These people need to be criminally investigated

Promoting two truckers in a national contest.
Two Truck Drivers in Running for National
‘Carhartt Tough’ Contest
Voting to take place from Feb. 1 – 28 at www.CarharttRental.com
Cincinnati, OH – Truck Drivers, John Irish from West Allis, MN and Bubba Peters from Seattle, WA are two of 12 finalists in the national Are You Carhartt Tough? Contest. Voting will take place through Feb. 28 at www.CarharttRental.com , and two grand prize winners will be selected based on the public’s votes.
John works long days as a Truck Driver, delivering shingles to buildings ranging from one to four stories high. John’s tough job takes him up and down rooftops while carrying 100 pound bundles, and his daily routine requires him to lift thousands of pounds of shingles while on steep angles.
Bubba is a Tow Truck Operator whose hard work and courage on the job has kept people from harm’s way. Through 20-hour shifts in freezing temperatures, Bubba has helped to tow dangling buses off of a bridge so that they would not plummet to the freeway below. John and Bubba are “Carhartt tough!”
The Are You Carhartt Tough? contest began last February and has generated hundreds of nominations. Each of the 12 quarterly finalists will be featured on the contest’s web site where the public will be encouraged to vote. Two grand prize winners will be chosen based on public votes.
The contest was created in conjunction with a new partnership between Carhartt, the nation’s leading manufacturer of premium work wear for over 120 years, and Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq:CTAS), North America’s largest uniform supplier, and the roll-out of the new Carhartt Rental Workwear line, which is available exclusively through Cintas (www.cintas.com/carhartt ).
“This contest is really a reflection of our companies,” says Chuck Helmes, Director of Garment Strategy at Cintas Corporation.“Both Carhartt and Cintas are known for providing tough products and dependable service, and we want to celebrate workers who reflect those same characteristics.”
With Ducks Unlimited acting as media sponsor, contest organizers have reached out to the American workforce to identify people who are strong, dependable, resilient and rugged. The two grand prizes include a weekend duck hunt trip designed by Ducks Unlimited or a trip for two to The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series in 2011.
The other ten quarterly finalists are:
· Jonathan Backus, an Electrical Lineman from Hampton, VA
· Cori Dixon, a Pig Farmer from Kutztown, PA
· Tim Zweber, a Dairy Farmer from Elko, MN
· Steve Nicholson, a Firefighter from Quincy, CA
· Joanna Davis, an Electrician from Minot, ND
· Elizabeth “EJ” Robertson, a Laborer/Journeyman from Peoria, IL
· David Huskins, a field Technician from Denver, CO
· Peter Lindbeck, a Heavy Machinery Operator from Brownsville, MN
· Matthew Clark, a Snowmaker from Boalsburg, PA
· Gabe Butler, a Navy Diver from San Diego, CA

For high-resolution, downloadable photos of the finalists, visit: http://www.cintas-corp.com/customer_applicati... .
"This is a great way for two well-respected work wear brands to showcase the men and women behind some of the toughest jobs out there,” said Steve Carter, Vice President of Corporate Sales for Carhartt.“Our customers work hard and play hard, and these are two fabulous prizes that we look forward to presenting to our top two finalists.”

Oh man did I ever get stuck there! I had a 3 day log reset at that place and it is the WORST EVER! It was something out of the Mad Max movie. I did laundry and my clothes didn't dry. I found the service attendant. He had the biggest nose in the world held on by duck tape. I told him that the machine ate my money. He grunted that his machines don't do that. He bent over to check the belt under the dryer and fruit flies and fleas flew out of his crack. The restaurant stank like diapers. The food tasted like shit. One waitress had eyes operating independently so she could watch two customers at the same time. Bathroom and showers - just don't go there!

The 1975 Magnusson – Moss Act was enacted to "improve information to consumers, prevent deception, and improve competition in marketing products." Under the act, a manufacturer cannot deny a warranty claim simply for using aftermarket parts and can only deny a claim for repairs if the aftermarket product can be proved to cause the damage.

As the founder of the fuel technology noted in Transport Topics in 2008 for saving LaMonica Fine Foods' small fleet over $10,000 in diesel costs the first quarter, I note that many trucking companies turn down testing our technology because they say it voids the warranty. My question is “Do trucking firms know about the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act?”

As a small company with years of evolving development in fuel saving technology, our money has gone into research and testing with private industry, not into expensive U.S. EPA diesel tests. Recently in Brazil, EPA test results gave 25% fuel savings with 80% reduced emissions on a large Mercedes box truck concurring with other private industry testing. Never once in any of our applications through the years has there been a warranty claim on fuel savings.

It’s important the America Trucking industry learn that they have the right to test and do not need EPA testing to save fuel and reduce emissions. That’s the law. Peter Kulish, www.EnviroMagnetics.net

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Libra

Feeling impatient? There's a lot you want to achieve this morning, so don't hang around. Venus is working for you, so get as much done as possible, because later in the day the Moon slinks into Scorpio, and you won't be very pleased if things get in your way. If you're faced with a logistics problem, the best way to solve it may be to throw money at it, but only if you've got the funds to begin with.
