If Commander In Chief O'bama can open service to gay's it's time to lift the arbitrary age restriction on re-enlistments. This banking crises didn't occur in Canada - a country with strict banking regulations. The housing markets in Toronto and Vancouver are stronger than ever now.
The only place where Canada is suffering right now is in the loss of American business (oil, forestry products, etc).
