Apple's new MobileMe Internet service still rocky

I have been a loyal Apple customer for 5 years and couldn't me more disappointed than I am today with MobileMe. This application has crippled the Apple user community and is far less useful than expected. It is not fully integrated and not a replacement for any Blackberry. Calendars are not integrated with email, and you cannot send invites out via the Calendar application. It's just terrible. And two weeks into the launch and our email is still not consistently available. The 1% refers to accessing email. Find out the % of users that have smaller bugs and I bet it's a lot higher. Contacts, two weeks later, just became accessible through email.

One of the really bad aspects of the MobileMe fiasco is how Apple treated their customers.

The first thing they did was limit customer support to email (or in rare cases chats), and usually those emails were not responded to in anything like a timely manner (think weeks instead of days).

The second thing they did was to try to minimize the PR damage by pretending there was no problem. While Apple were losing messages right and left, their status bar showed mail as completely functionable.

The third thing they did was to censor criticism of MobileMe in the Apple Discussion Groups.

All in all, their handling of the customers was even worse of a fiasco than their product.
