Everything else is, so why not Russian uranium. We are the new dumping ground for China so why not Russia?

Wayne what is your point? This is a story about taking in Uranium for fuel production not waste disposal. I am also still trying to figure out what you are talking about with China. The US certainly imports to much from China but it is not waste although most products made in China are garbage (inferior to US products)but purchased over US products by americans because of price. The US claims that it recycles Electronic or E-waste which is an environmental disater waiting to happen. The amount of lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and beryllium in these products is vast. The US ships thousands of sea land containers to China weekly for recycling. The problem is the government in China does not regulate this industry. The tedious task to recover the valuable materials such as silver and gold is left to local residents who live near inland rivers. On the Yhangtze river the level of toxic heavy metals has risen drastically because of what the US takes credit for as recycling. Be careful when painting with a broad brush. |
