It's not about illegals idiot! It's about privacy rights and nosy employers. There should be a federal law prohibiting employers from asking for passwords and access to personal social media accounts.

While it's understandable employers would want to know about the perverted freaks working for them and how their slanders, drug use, pride in attacking others and sexual perversions could adversely affect actual enterprise, the new technology does introduce some sticky privacy factors. However, it's troubling that lawmakers would be concerned about this marginal issue, when they've harmed the American public in so many other ways themselves.

If I post something to a page, which is only viewed by a limited number of people in a social circle, a prospective employer of someone in that in that circle whom I don't even know has no business forcing that person to let them see my stuff.

We should support this bill.

That is not regulation, it is an abuse of password protection, when an employer takes a password which they obtained through intimidation then uses it to go and access a computer somewhere on the internet they are committing computer trespass just like a hacker.

I also don't want them walking in my back door and snooping around because someone I know is looking for a job.

That pesky document called the constitution and decades of supreme court decisions! Employers have no right to pry into anyone's personal life unless it affects their job performance. A nosy employer is an abusive employer! We are not slaves and employers are not buying us they are employing us!

Despite the little negative icons you got, Roy, you are absolutely correct. And it won't sink into the brains of some of the idiots until THEY are the ones being denied something.

An employer has NO business snooping into the life that you lead once you are off THEIR time. If someone drinks themselves under the table every weekend if should matter not to an employer as long as that employee makes it to work on Monday morning and satisfactorily does his or her job. If said employer wants to look up someone's public FB page, then that's easy enough to do; but to ask for a password to delve into private notes, photos and messages is out of line.

Employers should also not be allowed to check your credit history. That is between YOU and your creditors. They should have no business checking your medical history, but they are doing it through insurance companies.

One day Americans are going to wake up and realize WHO is taking away our rights. It's not the government, it's business and corporations that are trying to control every aspect of our lives.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Cancer

The question of who and what you should believe is never far away today. Someone could easily mislead you, although it's a moot point whether they do this intentionally or not. Or there could be a communication glitch that means no one knows what's going on. Be very careful when handling money because there could be lots of silly mistakes, and if you're really unlucky there might also be some double-dealing too.
