Dollar tree is so unfair in many ways...ive worked here for two yrs as a cashier and I still make 7.25 an hr...however another cashier who also works with me and who i trained makes 7.40 an hr! this makes me sooo angry! Their policy on post voids is absolutely stupid! we cant help that this store doesnt take mastercard...so when a customer decides to pay and only has mastercard the cashier has to get a Post void bc the customer cant pay for it and they have the nerve to want to punish u for their stupid mistakes! This store sucks beyond words! Anyone who works for dollar tree deserves a medal for putting up with their crap...I for one am sick of it and plan on doing something about it!

On Aug. 19 ,2012 I was hired a the Dollar Tree in Jackson tn. On stonebridge. By store manager Michelle Cox Ingram, I was not trained on a checkout , I was one put on a checkout alone. At the end of the day I was told that my drawer was $40.00 short and that she would have to speak to district manager about it and she would contact me. I attempted to contact her several times to see what was going on she would not talk to me. My sister went in to speak with her and the assistant manager told her this happens all the time new people are hired drawers come up short and they are fried. This needs to be looked into I call the headquaters, and I am waiting on a response . This managers husband is in the store all the time on her shift. On sept. 7 my daughter went in to pick up her check and the manager said she gave her a debit card for her money to be deposited on the first time ,she did not get a debit card. This manager is a CROOK AND DOLLAR TREE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO , THESE ACTION,, ALSO ON TODAY SHE SAID THE DRAWER WAS 50.00 short. MICHELLE COX INGRAM YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!

It is a shame how they have become. But I do have to say...in my own opinion and experience with them...not all stores are bad. When I first started with them on the east coast, the store ran very well. That all changed when I moved to the west coast. It all comes down to the dm of the store....asset protection...and the regional manager. They cover for each other. Its like a code. They make up there own rules as they go along depending on the circumstances, and how bad they want you out,for whatever reason .If you have a good manager they will eventually get let go. A good manager will be fair...my motto with being a manager is...not every one has to like you,but if everyone respects you...you have a great set of employees. The manager there should have looked at the detail transactions on the reg. Usually an even amount like that can be found,a simple mistake such as hitting cash when it was an ebt. It has happened. If it was me I would have told her to be more careful, explained the mistake to the dm,and let it be.all I can say is.look for another job. I could tell you stories that would make your jaw drop. Good luck and if you get suspended for whatever reason, just so you know...99% of those get fired...they just say suspended to drag you along, to show you who has the power.

Amber, try calling Pat Doss. She will listen. If you don't get a response from her, send her a letter. Sounds like the manager is breaking alot of rules. Why would your daughter be working in the same store as you? If her pay was put on a paycard, the store has to track the paycard numbers so have her talk to the sm again. I have been a sm for 14 years now. I like my job about 80% of the time. I do agree with asm. It does depend on the dm, rdm. Have you tried talking to the dm?

I bet if the judge worked for Dltr the outcome would be different...Dltr is a sneaky company and change, ignore or enforce policy at will

Every dog has its day wrote: X manager I feel your pain. After I left I thought someone from dltr would call me and ask why. Someone that works for (8 or 15 years) with a company with a HIGH turn over rate leaves........there is a reason Hate to tell you this it's cuz they don't give a shit - about their employees, cuz if you don't do what they want they will find some other dumbass to do your job for minimum wage. So they could careless how long you've been with the company. It's all about Money and stupid ideas the big wigs think of for the employees to do, while they sit on their asses making way more than any of their long time employees. It's just DT Bullshit!!!

Figure this one out, a pt stocker has to have surgery and will be gone a month, so they require him to fill out FLMA paperwork. A few days after surgery he gets a letter saying he doesn't qualify for it and if he returns in less than 3 weeks his job is still there, but any longer than that he loses his job. He's been with DT for over 5 years, and he'd have to be rehired at a lower pay than what he was already making. Does any of this make any sense to Anyone???

I have worked for this company for 6 years and yes the company is crap sometimes but you know what has made me stay is the team and store manager I have. Must make the place workable and if the company doesn't listen keep all the copies of all the changes you need to show that you tried. Later they wont be able to blame you for something you as a person who cares to have it changed or fixed.

i worked for dollartree for 10 years and was store mgr. I work schedule from 8am until 5pm . I turned safe over to assistant mgr. The total deposit showing at 5pm was 1400. To make a long story short I didnt do a midday because we was not close to 4000 but at the end of night the store had done 4160 in cash and checks. My assistant mgr divided the deposit 3500 in one bag and 640 in the other bag then carried it to bank and got robbed. Dollartree investigated it and determined that me being the store mgr should have carried the 1400 to bank before i left at 5pm and then they wouldnt have lost so much money. I was off of work for 5 hours before they were robbed looking at tv with my family. But dollartree fired me for not protecting the company assests. have anyone ever heard of such a thing.
