We NEED a WaWa in Hampton!!!
I'm so jealous. |
Really! It's an evil tease to get off of I-64 at the King Street exit and see the Wawa ad on the billboard and know that it's not us. A great place to put one would be somewhere along Mercury where all of those old houses that Carrithers Realty rents that are vacant, or... where the Elementary School on Fox Hill Road is - it's not like the schools are using that land to do radical things like, oh, I don't know... teach kids! |
Drivers beware. When turning south onto S.Battlefield from the Wawa on Hillcrest Pkwy., drivers are unaware of the school zone because the exit is past the flashing lights and signs. Every morning I see a couple of unsuspecting drivers pulled over there.

Thanks for the warning but this WAWA is in York Co..appreciate the heads up. |
We definitely need a WAWA in Hampton! Maybe our Economic Development Department should do something about it. Maybe something better than they've done with our Nascar Cafe. |
Yeah, I know. I just thought I'd post it since we're on the subject of Wawas. |

Why does York Co get the new Wawa? Why don't they build a Wawa downtown Newport News? There is nothing down that way - plenty of land, city tax breaks, little competition, etc.
I bet I know why... |
Will they deliver beer/wine/cigarettes too? That'd be GREAT!!! Get some DUI tax money!!!
Waaaa Waaaaa quit your crying....same old moaning and groaning. You work for the city of NN...ask them. Thats York Counties business. Or maybe the WaWa Corp already knows better. |
It's because Wawa is really an elaborate plot to keep the black man enslaved. Really it is. If it were anything other than that it would be called Baba. |

I'll say it: RACISIM Why is that so hard for you people to admit. You know they don't want to build downtown and invest in the Black community when there is white York Co just right up the road. |
What a bunch of idiots. First of all, this isn't a NEW Wawa in York County - it's an ehnancement of the existing on on Route 17 at Wolf Trap Road. It's been there for years. They're just putting the new service in the area where the parking lot (on the side toward the old Grafton Shopping Center) used to be. Secondly, there are already several Wawas in Newport News. There's one on 17 (J Clyde) not far from 64. It's right across the street from some car dealership and it's next door to the Soap N Suds. There's also one on Warwick Blvd in Denbigh. As for the racial garbage, I won't dignify that idiocy with any further comment, and I would appreciate it if you ignorant bigots would refrain from doing so likewise. |

Ok... in the great words of my beloved daddy 'BULLSHEAT' (that has to be spoken in about 4 or 5 syllables) |
Aaron Brooks is investing in NN. So is this an official claim of yours that Wawa is a racist organization? I'm sure they put more into their research than racial demographics. |
THANK YOU Luuccy....sounds like your daddy knew my daddy...:o) |

What about the WaWa on 17 in Newport News? That was in place before the one in YOrk. Does that kind of ruin your racist rant? |

It probably won't because it is not downtown. However, there is one up in Denbigh by Beechmont. Beechmont and the surrounding area is scary..So that one SHOULD end the racist rant....but it won't. |
