A guy I dated for about a year was a manager at their corporate office in Pompano. He used to brag how he never paid for groceries, and how much money he made. He was always giving me an my friends TONS of coupons, we always ate there for nothing. All the upper level managers were overpaid and robbed that company blind. Corporate GREED is what caused this REDNECK restaurant to go out of business!!
Actually there were only a few District/Area managers that were garbage. Thankfully most of the bad apples were let go. Sadly too many chiefs with deaf ears ruined them.

Wow, it only took 8 posts to blame GWB.

If I read the article correctly, the founder originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2002. Did anyone else notice that? How is this the White House's or the war in Iraq's fault?

If it is the White House, why would it be the Bush administration?

Come on people, be a little more creative than that.

Funny how people complain AFTER THE FACT. Did anyone write, call, email the company after so many horrifying experiences?
Nope, I didn't call or email, ate there once, didn't like the food, atmosphere, or service...never went back....Lots of nice places to eat in S. Florida, no need to go back to a place that isn't great....End result, lack of patrons is the loudest complaint. They didn't listen, now they're done!

I mailed it to Olive Garden and they sent me a gift card for $35 good anywhere in the USA..C..r..a..c..k..e..r Barrel loves to hear fron customers and will send $$$ cards

Bush ruined the Roadhouse Grill. If Osama becomes President, I am sure it will soon re-open. Bush is to blame for everything bad. When it rains takes away a sunny day, it is Bush's fault. When America has not had a terrorist attack in 7 years, it is Bush's fault.

You Bush lickers are a pathetic bunch, all 28% of you. Ignorance is bliss.

In the 8 years prior to Bush, oil was $22 to $28. Since Bush's wars in Iraq and threats against oil rich Iran and Venezuela, oil is now $127.

The housing collapse resulted from his policy which prohibited all 50 states Attorney General's from enforcing regulations against deceptive lending in their states.

This crummy economy is a direct result of Bush's warped economic and foreign policies, and ultimately the demise of Roadhouse Grille. Many more to follow...

My husband worked for the RoadHouse Grill for many years and he was told by the company superiors that there was a computer problem in payroll and that instead of recieveing his regular bi-weekly paycheck on the scheduled pay day (Tuesday may 13th) that he would recieve it two days later. Two days go by and on Thursay May 15th my husband gets up and goes to work as usual. when he gets there he discovers the resaturant is closed, padlocked and there are court papers taped to the front doors. Needless to say: he was not warned or told of the closing by anyone nor has he recieved his paycheck. He is now owed for three weeks of labor (not to mention his vacation pay) and he has called numerous company superiors numerous times to no avail. We are just one family of thousands who were unexpectadly thrown into the delima of losing our homes, our cars, our lights being turned off and not being able to buy groceries for our children, or even the funds to buy gas for our cars to even go look for another job. What are we to do? The least the company could have done was pay it's thousands of dedicated employees the hard earned money that they worked for, are owed,(and still have not recieved), before filing bankrupcy. What is really upsetting is that the owner of the company (John Metz)will still be a millionair when all is said and done...maybe he will be kind enough to throw a quarter at his ex employees holding a cardboard "Will Work For Food" sign while he is exiting I95 in his $80,000.00 luxury car!

Your partisan screed is backed up by a lack of knowledge.

Screaming leftwing extremists in Congress wanted every one of their constituents to be able to get housing loans, regardless of creditworthiness.

combine that with the fed's long-time interference with interest rates and that is what impacted the housing market.

Roadhouse apparently had lousy management who were unable to compete. Not a political problem.

Why do you love Bush so much?

I THINK WE HAVE ALL EXPERIENCED PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHEN WE GO OUT TO HAVE A NICE DINNER WITH OUR FAMILES...YOUR'E THE LADY WHO IS ALWAYS MAKING A SCENE BY YELLING AT THE WAITRESS, HUFFY AND MOANING SO LOUDLY THAT EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOU....YOU ARE THE ONE EVERONE STARES AT AND JUST THINKS "GOOOOOO HOOOOOOME AND EAT!"

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU SAY "ONLY IN 2ND RATE RESTAURANTS"....SO THE QUESTION IS....WHY DO YOU GO? FREE FOOD? FREE COUPONS? PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO TAKE YOUR CRAP BECAUSE THEY NEED TO EARN A LIVING? MY GUESS IS: THAT IS ALL YOU CAN PAY FOR AND IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN DO THAT IF YOU RELY ON SCAMS FOR YOUR NEXT "FREE" MEAL. I WILL EVEN GO SO FAR AS TO SAY THAT YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN GO TO THESE PLACES TO EAT...YOU JUST GOOGLE THE COMPANY AND SEND A NASTY COMPLAINT AND THEN THEY SEND YOU FREE STUFF....THEN YOU GO TO EAT AND STILLLLLLLLL COMPLAIN...BUT ONLY SO YOU CAN GET MORE FREEEEE FOOD. GO ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE...LESS AGGREVATING FOR THE REST OF US WHO PAY OUR WAY THROUGH LIFE!

just a little bit of info. aside from them going bankrupt, my husband was a manager there. they shut down and now everyone who worked there are out of their 3 and 1/2 weeks of pay due to the bankruptcy!!!!! was told that the liquidation will cover the debts first and the payroll will be at the bottom of their list. would like to know who is gonna tell that to the companies like FPL and our local water company that expect their money!!!!

I would like to extend my best wishes for you and your family. My spouse was an upper management employee at the Roadhouse Grill. He as well was lied to about payroll. The Roadhouse owes us close to $4,000.00 in wages and we hear that we will probably never even see it! This info of course is via route of the news channels, etc -because we sure have not heard anything from the powers that be at the EX_ROADHOUSE GRILL! I believe firmly that John Metz knew he was going to file bankrupcy as he did not pay anyone in all the restaurants on payday due to a "computer error" and then two days later they are all locked up! Also, a week before this there was a "push" of employess and managers into Hops that were taken out of the Roadhouse. This guy knew then that he was going to throw all the other employees and their families into the breadlines and saved a precious few!!! It was all very sneaky and underhanded! I know the managers who were moved to Hops got their paychecks! Are their families any better than ours? Do their children need a roof over their heads and ours don't? The decent thing he could have done was to pay everyone first! Did you read in the paper where the courts were asked if the food, equipment, etc could be left in the restaurants as it is cheaper to let it go then to try to liquidate? I say: LIQUIDATE! PAY EVERYONE THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY SO THEY CAN FEED THEIR FAMILIES! Since we are in a recession and it is not "season" jobs are not easy to locate if you are a manager and it takes soooo much time! Time that FPL, Motgage companies, etc do not wish to extend to us. I send you my prayers and hopes in that your husband finds a job quickly~please do the same for us.
