The Glenview does very well, I just don't know why, must be the prices. We've eaten there several times over the years and it just seems like they open up one of those Banquet Frozen things and make it warm then serve it.I really enjoyed having breakfast there. Decent coffee and whatever you felt like having that day. Wasn't too keen on lunch or dinner, but breakfast was always good. I prefer The Glenview for lunch or dinner.

They should open a strip club, the only stipulation being parking is $5 an hour and that money goes to the city. Bam money problem solved.

i remember goin there with my great-grandmother years ago. Everytime I see Skip's restaurant on "The Simpsons" (shown in background in several episodes, as well as tony + annes and chelmsford gingerale), I think of her and my childhood in Chelmsford/Westford.

Everybody is entitled to their own oppinions on the food that we served at Skips but the enviroment and wonderful people that work their just made it such a remarkable place to be.
This is such a devistating time for the employees and regular customers that it would be muchly appreciated if no 1 wasto bad mouth what we pretty much all call our second home... i will miss you fred, george, donna, michael, and the rest of my fellow employees. So many great times and so many memories that i will always remember! |

I'll never miss it. I can hardly wait for the new owner to open up some $15 appetizer special,or a $25 meatloaf dinner. You know,a snobby up-scale place.

I've only had the pleasure of going there a few times. But every time I went there, the staff were extremely friendly and the food was actually pretty good and they were at a decent price. Sad to see it go.

We were so sad to hear that it's closing. It's unbelievable. You're seeing more and more children selling off their parents' businesses just to make a quick buck. It's appalling that keeping history alive and providing a family friendly environment for future generations matters less than money in the current owners' pockets. In the world of today, we need affordable, happy places to dine at. Instead, we're going to be offered another high priced establishment that will most likely be forced to close within the first month due to lack of business. The owners have made a very foolish and selfish decision. They've put a price tag on memories. Unforgivable.

Fred, George, Mike and Donna,
Thank you so much for the many years of dining in your wonderful restaurant. All of you certainly know how to run a business and treat people with great respect. I have been at Skips many times in the last 50 years, starting with going there with my parents, brother and sister. Everytime I have entered the door of SKIP's, I have been treated wonderful as if I was visiting friends. I always get a warm hello and a delicious meal and the deserts are wonderful. I believe there is a sign in the restaurant that says something like this... "Give the people what they want and plenty of it." I believe George or Fred's Dad may have said this. Well, Fred and George, you have certainly lived up to this and your parents would be so proud of how you have kept the business running well. Also, I am in the customer service business and I have observed the Skip's team work everytime I go in there and everyone of the team, works extra hard and it shows. Fred and George must be great bosses to work for as the staff seems to stay a long time. Not to forget all the many college students that worked at Skip's in the summers and on breaks. Just think of how much Fred and George have taught the team to treat people with great respect, given them business advice and also helped them to pay their college bills by working hard at SKIP's. With this fast paced, forever changing world, how many places can you go where there is consistency. I can only think of one place, You guessed it SKIP'S. I know Fred and George have made up their minds about selling and they deserve all the best for they have touched the lives of so many people and I will always be grateful for not only the great food, the nice restaurant, the deserts, holiday pies, but the learning experience watching a great team work so hard and enjoy their jobs and it is a great place to relax. There will never be another SKIP's or another Fred, George, Mike or Donna, but there will be so many great memories and that is PRICELESS. Thank you Fred, George, Mike and Donna and the entire SKIP's Family. You guys are all great and the number one restaurant around. Thanks!!!!!!!!!! Bob |

My family and I have been going to Skip's for over 30 years, and we have never had anything less than a good meal there. We will have wonderful memories of the staff, always attentive to our requests. We are heartbroken, but will always preserve the memories of a Chelmsford institution. Best of luck to everyone connected with the retaurant.
