Nobody even knows what Dynetech does or with whom Dynetech does business. Their website is vague, too. The one paragraph in this article about the company itself is vague too, stating:
"The 8-year-old company does a lot of different things, including the development and production of direct-marketing seminars, infomercials and promotional materials, though it is perhaps best known for its "wealth building" products. Those include "stock picking" software for amateur market investors, and pricey real-estate training material that was hot during the condo and home-sales boom."

OK, so are they a real estate company? A MLM-type of business? Do they really merit their name atop a building in a city's downtown? Could they perhaps rename their company so sound more like what they do...because right now it sounds like they build robotic dinosaurs.

I agree with Chris about Dynetech. I interviewed for a job with Dnetech a couple of years ago. The HR manager was unable to clearly articulate exactly what the company does. That was a big red flag for me. If the HR manager only has a vague understanding of the company, something's not right.

you're right... something's not right there.

Any company that spends a dime to make a nickel is destined to fail.

I work across the hall from dynetech at the citrus center and have had people apply for jobs at my company. every interview gives another hint at what the company does, it sounds like it does marketing events for real estate and each individual has their "own team" and is responsible for making sales at "training" events to make their money. I don't see why they would need a building when according to almost everyone that has applied that employees spend 60%+ of their time traveling.

In any event, the building is awesome and the apartments are pretty cool too...

Another overpriced Orlando property and everyone wonders why it is a ghost town. The beat goes on in this city...when they bring the rents down inline with demand these units will be renting for $600 for a studio and $800 for a one bedroom versus the $1085 for a studio and $1500 for a one bedroom the seek. I doubt people are lining up to buy dynetech's stock trading and travelling programs. This company will be out of business before that sign is ever on the door.

What does Dynetech do?

In a nutshell, they place a full page ad in a local paper and then mail out 20,000 letters with A and B tickets.(so they can track success rates)

Only about 1% of folks show up for the events but that's ok because they average a 20% close rate.

Basically they sell a $5000 course that you could get the same information from at your local library for free.

Any topic, pick one and they can sell it. Step right up folks, VISA and Mastercard accepted. Why buy a $20 book when you can have their employees read it aloud to you for $5000.

There's a sucker born every second...

Didn't they use to call themselves NMII or something about an "Open University"?

I remember Newsweek did an article about Larry Pino and said they could't find anybody who had ever made any decent money from Larry's programs.

I went to one of their events and there was some fat guy there called "Pete", I don't know if that was even his real name or not, he had a comb over and a fake Rolex though, I thought how successful is he?

what do they do? re-write things that have already been written and sell them for 500% mark ups.

seems to me the building investment is a sure fire way to save some company assets.

I worked in the marketing department so had a front row seat of how all the products were developed and marketed. It's true that most, if not all, the information is "re-purposed" from other sources. Dynetech brings it all together and sells it.

It's not the only company to do so; anyone with a child approaching college age can tell you there are plenty of companies that will sell you "insider" information on the application process, interviewing and scholarships.

Dynetech preys on people's hopes and dreams of a better life. Just because those dreams are unrealistic and people hope to get a full-time income on part-time work doesn't make it any more palatable. Our materialistic culture helps ensure that Dynetech has always had a steady stream of suckers. What Dynetech does is not illegal (as far as I could tell) but is unethical and slimy.

Yesterday one of the few remaining survivors at Dynetech told me the company is filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

All religions teach that "you reap what you sew". Call it fate, karma, whatever, but, selling cement life-rafts to people that are drowning is NOT a long-term sustainable business model. Sooner or later, if you dance to the music, you are going to have to pay the piper. Looks like it's time to pay-up.

There are worse scumbags than Larry Pino, but Larry started in that business early - way back with a guy whose name was Dick or Dicks if I recall correctly. That guy came from the Charles Givens organization. Givens went to jail about 10 or 15 years ago. Dicks learned from Givens and Pino learned from Dicks. They all plied a similar trade - high priced information products and wealth inducing strategies with one on one hand holding of customers in programs that are pitched face to face in seminars. Pino is smart and clever. Expect him to escape relatively unharmed. I'm sure he got his over the past 9 years. And no doubt he will be back - probably pitching something like How I Made $1 Million Going Bankrupt.

Gigantic egos is what killed Dynetech...Corprate Jets, huge building etc..only to impress high society Orlando folks while hurting over 500+ employees. They crushed vendors for over 40 million in payables while Larry & Janet will still be fat cats..nice huh!!!
