You can post from another location, such as the Library, and Topix.com will fix your location as where you're posting from.

There's a free laptop for customer use at Fountain City Coffee, also, for example... two blocks from the bridge to Phenix City.

Also, if I'm not registered, Topix.com will give my location as places such as "Chicago" and so forth... I really can't belive you claim to be so "smart" yet don't know these facts, "Hank".

(Internet Service Provider)
Most would be local but you might have someone using a proxy but why do that for Topix.

The one I'm using often puts me in "Chicago" as a location.

I'm not even close to being an expert on this but I notice this happens with me, and I've read of it happening to others.

Also, I haven't looked in years but it seems I recall Topix.com allowing posters to name thier locations?
