I have 20m in german bearer bonds with documentation that bonds were purchased between 1928 thru 1931 by my grandfather. Many people are working on these for redemption trade programs. Nothing yet but a lot of interest. I don't think they are gold backed. I guess because of the documentation, I can show that these bonds have been in the family since 1928-31 and not taken out of Germany after the war. Even if they are not backed by gold, a lot of people believe they can do something with them. respond to scamp92@sbcglobal.net

Please note, Mexican Bonds, dated from 1850 to 1951 are VOID, and have no value, per the Mexican Government.

That is to say that they cannot be monetized by the Mexican Government, and interest payments have NOT accrued on the bonds.

Recall that there was a REVOLUTION in 1910, so many would be covered by that event, and the other bonds are void because the effective date for payment has passed.

This is per the attached memorandum issued by the Mexican Government:

http://www.banxico.org.mx/sistema-financiero/...

So, the bottom line is that the bonds are pretty, and they are historical, but they are not worth anything over and above the value their age or beauty gives them.
As for anyone who "claims" to be trading these bonds, you can rest assured that they are simply joker brokers looking for that "one deal" that will set them up for life.
To those I say: Get a real job.

Two European Banks are presently buying 1913 & 1930 (Tesoro) Historical Mexican Gold Bonds and Petrobras Bonds; also Brazilian Treasury Notes (LTNs) for PPP. An authorized/registe red ‘Depository’ in California represents Buyer(s). Bonds must be deposited ‘in safekeeping’ in the Depository vaults for authentication and purchase. A Safekeeping Receipt is issued for each lot of Bonds deposited -- to party depositing as these are ‘Bearer’ Bonds. The information in this overview may change at any time. The Procedure is as follows: 1. This is a ‘private’ purchase transaction re ‘Historical Bonds’ with no verifiable value. 2. Bonds are purchased in lots of 100. However, less than 100 will be accepted by Depository so several bond holders can be combined to make up the 100 minimum. 3. The following is required: a) All serial numbers and a few scanned color copies in advance of appointment. b) Bond holder’s Passport copy or Drivers License plus their address and contact information in order to prepare the Safe Keeping Receipt and Sales Contract. c) Sales Contract is prepared by Depository Officer and sent directly to bond holder. 4. Depending on the amount to be paid, payment is by internal ledger to ledger transfer or ‘bank to bank’ by Swift to the account designated by the Bond holder. Intermediary Fee is protected and paid by the Depository as Paymaster. Bond holders must act quickly and get the required information (stated in #3 above) into the Depository as soon as possible to get in the queue. For 1913 Series C ‘975 Peso’ Bonds (net to bond holder/seller): 9M per Bond. Intermediary Fee: 500K per Bond. For 1913,‘1950 Peso’ Bonds (net to bond holder/seller and Fee): Same as above. For 1930 Bonds - All Series (net to bond holder/seller): 100K per Bond. Intermediary Fee: 25K per Bond. Historical Brazilian Treasury Notes – LTNs (Letra do Tesoro Nacional) with 1.2B face value. Minimum number required is 15 –maximum 25 per contract for entry to PPP.

I currently have a client (a wealth management group) that is seeking to monetize various bonds in their portfolio currently valued at over $10B. They have presented me with the following inventory for monetization:

 Brazilian LTNs on CETIP (Some are on Euroclear)
 Mexican Pink Double L’s (gold backed)
 Mexican white 1904a (gold backed)
 Mid 1850’s
 Venezuelan bonds
 Japanese, Peruvian, Irish and German bonds

*My client has historical bonds and current bonds

If you can assist with any (or all) of these instruments please advise what the necessary protocol and documentation requirements are to initiate the monetization process, along with an estimated LTV percentage.
