Got a better alternative to the free market, or do you just hate America?

Hey Mike, How come you don't respond to the posts that totally refute your illogical and fact free comments? Like the following comment for example. I thought you welcomed debate.
********** You failed to respond to my previous post where I chided you for being so foolish as to think DDR was going to build you a Costco. Or anything else. That is what you don't get. A vote FOR Measure A was a vote to look at the Masonite slab for years to come. And you are wrong. The ball IS in DDR's court. They own the property. It is there choice to decide if they want to: A.) develop the property consistent with its zoning; B.) apply for a General Plan and Zoning Code Amendment; C.) sell the property; D.) throw a hissy fit like Mendo Mike, spin in circles and squeal "I did not get my way so I will make you look at this slab for the next twenty years." You also fail to recognize it was a consensus of community and civic leaders countywide who opposed Measure A. Not just the few like Shoemaker and Baldwin you have a hard on for. And remember, if you are shopping at a county business, the owner may live in the city. The owner and employees of that business may shop in the city spending the dollars you placed in their hands. The horror! To guard against that outcome, and to be consistent with your beliefs of punishing everyone who voted the wrong way, you need to boycott all County businesses. I really love the way all you right wingers said "What could be more democratic than to let the people vote?" but now that they have and you don't like the result, you want to punish everyone. How childish. How immature. How you. Truly, the only reasonable move for you is to Santa Rosa where you will be much happier. |

And here is another one the Mighty Midget Mendo Mike forgot to respond to:
MendoMike wrote: "Actually that's not true. I'm a MCT member, and ponied up my money to try to get Measure A passed." And the answer that he had no answer for was: "Are you calling DDR a liar? They said they contributed 100% of the money for the Yes on A campaign, that they did not receive one dollar from anyone local. And the idea that MCT is a real organizational is ridiculous. They were created and funded by DDR. But you seem prone to swallowing any hook, line and sinker that DDR wishes to cast your way." |
You still don't get it do you? Measure A had nothing to do with getting a Costco. No one is stopping them. They will come here when THEY decide. The land is already zoned and ready to go as soon as they or the next large retailer thinks it makes sense to come here. And they will come here a lot sooner without Measure A mucking things up. It has been proven that DDR was NOT going to build ANYTHING for years to come, if ever. I am really glad I live in a place where people were not fooled by a million dollars in false advertising. The entire premise for Measure A was false. |
Hey, Mike, you are right. It is a beautiful place. What I don't get is why do people say they are moving to a beautiful place because it is beautiful and then start to wreck it because they want to make it more like the place they came from. Why not just stay where you came from where they already have all the consumer crap your heart desires and the smog, congestion, traffic and sprawl that goes with it? Why try to push your lets-kill-the-planet-now lifestyle off on the rest of us? Remember, it was DDR, the DDR paid for front group MCT, and a few local shills like you who tried to bypass the regular process instead of play by the rules that everyone else must follow. We just let you know that we don't want you dictating our lifestyle to us. That's all. No reason to throw a hissy fit. |
Hey Santa Rosa Mike, formerly Mendo Mike, Why Wreck It is correct. You ran away from what? The paved over, over crowded, polluted, noisy, traffic jammed Cities to live in this most beautiful place. Now you want to turn it into the same thing you fled from! Hmmmm! This is not about DDR. This is about YOU! A selfish, self centered, Narsisist who must cram your will down others throats and tell them they had better like it! You really do have a personality defect that you should get some help for. But you won't because...! Santa Rosa Mike is really catchy. You should consider that from there! |

Hey, I have no idea what happened to my 80 dollar membership fee to join MCT- for all I know it could have gone to buy champagne and party favors for a Yes on A victory celebration...a celebration that, sadly, didn't happen. |
Santa Rosa Mike, Sounds like DDR has even lied to you!$80 dollars times how many unaccounted for Memberships, what ever that means I call it a Political Contribution. But as a ConservPerv you can call it what ever you like. Lying come easy to you types! |
| ||||
NO, but it would be more free if Corps had a life span and actually died occasionally instead of being immortal. Also NO Corporate contributions to POLITICIANS! Public financing and much much shorter campaigns. Any Corp caught paying off a politician, contributing to their campaign in ANY WAY, is subject IMMEDIATELY to Seizer and Liquidation. Execs go to JAIL! Period!!! |

Man, talk about poor reading comprehension skills...I said the coast, forests, and nature up here is the most beautiful in the world, in my opinion-- I never said Shoemaker Park (AKA, the Masonite site) with its concrete slabs, rebar, and general blighted condition was beautiful. If you think Shoemaker Park is a beautiful piece of the Ukiah valley then visit Detroit- you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. For me Measure A was an opportunity to get rid of an eyesore- frankly, just about anything there would be an improvement. |

It is over, DDR will more than likely dump plans here and could keep the slab out of spite. Maybe they can develop the property for processing pot when it becomes legal in 2010. This is once again mismanagement from our elected officials. No one asked why DDR had to take this to the people of Mendocino County and couldn't work for success through the planning process. Maybe they didn't grease the right palms. I hope that Ukaih can attract more mom and pop business as the big boys will not come. What industry will want to locate here? No market to pander to, are the roads ready for big rigs for shipping? No we want green industry types, but who is attracting them? I will enjoy the slab as I drive past it to shop out of county, where growth is accepted and desired and the elected officials work to retain them. Good luck citz of Mendocino County, the next fight will be the visions of the GP property in Fort Bragg. See you there.
What planet are you from? Execs go to jail? What a joke, have you ever heard of lobbyists? This is a legal way to pay for things you want, another reason our country is so screwed up. Maybe if DDR had lobbied here we wouldn't be here but watching the changes take place on the slab. Folks get your signs ready- "NEED WORK" "WILL WORK FOR FOOD" |

Here's the funny thing about some of you no growth advocates- You assume someone who's in favor of developing the most blighted area of the Ukiah valley, the one area here that needs it the most (Shoemaker's property is a close second), MUST be a right wing conservative nut job, otherwise they'd follow your herd mentality and agree with you...so you pig pile on with the insults and name calling, ignoring that maybe, just possibly, I might have looked at the site for 20 years and based my decision to vote for A on what the site had become- an eyesore that won't go away as long as it's zoned heavy industry. If you feel that makes me a "conservperv" then that's all good, I gave up trying to explain myself in the face of ignorance, assumption and stereotyping by paranoid bigots like you long, long ago. |
Most call this development right or wrong, ask your self why the planning process did not work and DDR had to take their desires to the voters. Who will they run off next? Keep going with the no growth no change crowd and help the citz of Mendocino County stay the way they are now. Keep Mendocino County green, drive out of county to shop, but damn it buy your gas here. |
That's correct, LOBBYIST GO TO JAIL TOO! Thanks for reminding me!!! MendoMike needs some lovin, how about taking him in? You two should make Ugly music together. |
The Planning Process DID WORK! That is why DDR could not shove their project down our throats! Then the Citizens said NO in a vote paid for by DDR. Don't just buy your gas here BUY EVERYTHING HERE! That will be why CostCo and other retailers will come here. Get it Straight IDIOT! You and those like you simply shoot yourselves in the foot every time you open your traps! DDR had NOTHING TO DO WITH GROWTH OR NO GROWTH! You can REPEAT Stupid all you want it is still STUPID! |
You really should ask Robin Collier where your money went because the campaign finance reports say all the Yes On Measure A money came from DDR. At least you are honest in admitting you don't know what the DDR front group did with the money. Ask Robin if she has any party hats and champagne left. |
You must be one of those DISCRIMINATED against straight, white, males! So Sorry For You! It must be awful! Anyone who questions your minimal, narrow minded view of life is a bigot or some other name YOU CALL OTHERS! Mike, YOU ARE AN IDIOT! San Diego is calling. |

After reading your last several posts, I've come to an inescapable conclusion- You aren't very smart. In fact you're downright stupid. |
It is what you say and what you do that makes you a Conservative Pervert. Go ahead, call me some of your names. It is just who you ConservPervs are! You can't see the forest for the trees! |
