County: Masonite site's future in DDR's hands

I agree...the Masonite property is in DDR's hands..and I hope that they sit on it untill the County begs them to come back to the table, when the County files bankruptcy. I can't believe what a bunch of incompetent idiots, with the exception of Pinches, the Board is.

SOLE will not come through with their " visionary " plan anywhere in the County.

Shoemaker could sell S**H**I**T on a shingle to the local " progressives".

I do spend my money in Santa Rosa or online. Who would shop at those rip off small little ugly shops you see on School Street. You see nothing but pot head doilyheads walking the streets of Ukiah it's hard to tell who's the homeless and who's a darn hippie. Glad I stay off those sidwalks and continue to drive my full size lifted truck blowing my exhaust in their faces.

I'm not into pot at all and I defintiely am not into the "corporate Life" as you put it. America didn't used to be about the quarterly report and greed. It used to be about individualism, enterprise, freedom, choice and demcoarcy. We once believed in the old golden rule of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Not the new golden rule of "he who has the gold rules".

The corporate life as you put it has recked havoc on hardworking Americans putting them out of work so stuff can be made cheaper off shore. The Amercian working class has been removed from the equation of American wealth generation by the promoters of the corporate life. And the money spent locally was the money raised by SOLE. Did you know that not one local person contributed a cent to the DDR election campaign? DDR even had to pay all the bills for the pseudo local front group, "Mendocino County Tomorrow" that was created and funded by DDR.

Actually that's not true. I'm a MCT member, and ponied up my money to try to get Measure A passed.

Another statement that's untrue is that the ball is in DDR's court. In light of 4 out of 5 county supes stating they would oppose any mixed use development on the Shoemaker Park site DDR's hands will be tied for years to come regarding the future of Shoemaker Park...it will sit as a monument to the victory of the no growth advocates from SOLE for 20 more years, just like it is, with concrete blocks and rebar as its flora and fauna.

Whatever, the people have spoken and some of the bigger idiots continue to gloat over the election results, but I'm over it and my shopping habits will remain almost unchanged, even if Ukiah can find a tenant for its 4.6 million dollar property by the airport. I live in the unincorporated county and my business is in the unincorporated area, and without a tax sharing agreement in place it doesn't benefit me to shop in Ukiah; indeed, Sonoma County more closely mirriors my own political beliefs much more than the Mari Rodins, Clifford Palins and Phil Baldwins who are so prominent in Ukiah politics, and I cannot, in good faith, support people so opposite of what I feel responsible community growth and planning SHOULD be.

Since the election results of Nov. 3rd I haven't spent a dime in Ukiah- Saturday I drove to Corte Madera, shopped at Nordstroms and Crate and Barrel, then I stopped at Ashley Furniture in Rohnert Park on the way back and spent 1300.00+ on an entertainment center. Then we stopped at Seafood Willie's in Healdsburg for drinks and dinner. All told I spent about 2500.00 that supports Marin and Sonoma counties.
