This is OK, but I can't wait for the upscale retail to open at SAXONY in Fishers. The only new tenant to open in Greenwood is Stir Crazy. Every other tenant is already in the area.

SAXONY's retail component will be more similar to Keystone at the Crossing, and definately better than Hamilton Town Center in Noblesvill which is basically discount village with D i c k s, Dressbarn, SteinMart, JCPenney, etc.

Meanwhile, at another Simon property - Washington Square - nothing is happening, even though the mayor gave the Simons massive tax breaks for new construction.

In another generation Fishers will be a slum. Live it up while you can.

Johnny Rocekts success shows how bad Steak and Shake is run. Same food and atmosphere, one is growing, one is tanking.

The Oriental Buffet on 31 in the Wal-Mart plaza features a Mongolian grill and is better than the Mongolian Bar-b-que in Castleton, IMO.

I'm not sure whether Johnny Rockets will be a hit in Greenwood. People here are frugal, and might just view it as a higher priced Steak N Shake. I know many people who make this same analysis with Joe's Crab Shack and Long John Silvers.

That said, the new addition to the Greenwood Park Mall looks great, and I'm glad that Simon has recognized that there is enough money on the south side to make this kind of investment viable.

Cheesecake factory in Greenwood? It will be closed within 2 years. The area is not conducive to "upscale" dining. Even the Puccini's Smiling Teeth closed down in no time flat. I agree with SUPERBROKER's comments above. I was more than a little disappointed with the Hamilton Town Center's retail establishments. I think that the location being so far out in the country affected the Simon group's choice of retailers to court.

I recognize what you're saying but, apparently, Simon is giving people what they want. The American consumer is what it is.

I don't know when the last time you went to Greenwood was or if you are confusing it with another part of the state. I have lived in Greenwood my entire life, all 21 years of it, and we have never had a Cheesecake Factory, Johnny Rockets, or Jos. A. Bank that I can remember. It is nice to see new businesses open at the mall.

I, for one, am thrilled at the growth with Greenwood Mall. I despise driving up to the northside and dealing with all the horrible traffic. It took me a year to finally drive up there two weeks ago to spend my wedding certs at Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn.
What I would L_O_V_E on the southside is a Trader Joes. When will that happen!!??

There will be major holiday gridlock at Greenwood Park Mall.

The layout is poorly designed.

More stores that took the place of already much needed and used holiday parking.
With no place to go there will be major thoroughfares gridlocked outside the mall.

It will keep people away.

The Cheesecake Factory is Greenwood is already a huge success. Tell me one other restaurant on the south side that has a 2 hour wait?

The southside can easily support this restaurant and many more just like it.

Depot, maybe you haven't been to Greenwood in the last 15 years, but it's not "the country". It's 20 minutes from downtown (closer than many "upscale" Hamilton County destinations) and home to one of the fastest-growing, and most affluent, demographics in central Indiana. Or if you don't believe me, try taking a drive around northern Johnson County during rush hour on any given weeknight and you'll see it ain't driving in the country.

This new addition to the Greenwood Mall has revitalized not only that end of the mall but the entire mall. I'm glad to see it there, and one day I hope the waiting list at Cheesecake Factory will be less than 4 hours long!

PLEASE. Have you even SEEN the growth that is happening between greenwood and Bargersville? The homes there rival many homes in the Carmel/Fishers area. There are plenty of moneymakers on the southside who love fine dining and less traffic - not to mention being 20 minutes away from beautiful Brown County/Nashville. The mansions on the southside, and even we folk who love spending less overall on our cute homes enjoy art and theatre and higher priced variety.

Personally, I hate it the additions. It just makes it even harder to get around the mall, especially at Christmas.

You northsiders are something else. A shopping mall is a status symbol to you. Whoever has the most overpriced stores and restaurants wins.

Greenwood can definitely support the "upscale" dining scene. The only reason it does not appear to be is because no business has really given it a chance. I know I've driven to the northside with a few of my friends in order to eat at that Cheesecake Factory. Honestly I never heard of Smiling Teeth. When did it come to Greenwood and where was it located?

I tried Stir Crazy...sucks! I can cook better at home. It seems to me that they are trying to be PF Changs and don't even come close.

I had an appetizer and two entrees for $48 (only cokes to drink).

Go to Kroger and pick up a couple of cans of La Choy...same difference and will save you $40!

I like how they put in a roundabout to be more like the north side. I'm not sure how many people from Greenwood know how to drive through one.
