I agree with Ron, FCC needs to take a close look at this station, most people who listen to 104.1 are puppets (followers) who can be led, that is why all the defense of the station here, a month ago Shannon Burke was a great guy they all loved him and while on the station believe he would never do any of these things, this month after being fired, he is a no good wife beater, look out get him off the streets last month he would nt hurt anyone while on 104.1, this month he s a danger to every man woman and child, Look deep, you will see where it all comes from. 104.1 stop being puppets and think for a change for yourselves, get rid of this station, make it a christian rock channel, whatever, but you people that are 104.1 groupies need to realize its a show nothing more, than local people with really no talent, other than a small gift of GAB. nothing more,

shannon is painting the picture of an "accident" we can speculate about what really happened, and my assumption is with you that trigger weas pulled deliberately. however, i was stating what shannon said and did not say to 911 and police. he did not blame alcohol drugs or anything else for his behavior. on the call he said he admitted his actions were stupid or something to that affect - he claimed he was "playing" with the gun

It s time 104.1 Becomes a rock music station, with the economy and such, as it is, it s not funny anymore, and as seen with Shannon Burke, what is real about it? none of what they portray is real. you take someone like Jim Phillips who "PEOPLE LOVE" the guy is a 5'4" idiot, who thinks his stupidity makes him better than everyone else, yes he is the origional 104.1 Idiot, and what kind of a station has a bear named drunky??? a slap in the face to anyone that has ever lost someone to a drunk driver, thats not funny, then you have people that claim to be from Florida that give the rest of us true floridians a bad rap, by acting stupid, and ignorant, and running around being called Bubba, or a UCF flunky that asks totally dumb, what kjnd of a name does that give UCF? to have one of their students so stupid? and then another personality, who brags, his water was shut off in his house so he ran a garden hose from the house next door so he could "clean up and shower" yeah this is the best of Florida, Ignorant flunkies that can t get a real job, so they named it real radio so they felt like they had a real job. the funny stuff died long ago, now it is just a bunch of lazy fat idiots to high on their egos to work, not to mention to ignorant, that cannot hold a job elsewhere, its been seen 100 times how this station will put a knife in the backs of its people, like Bill Cross, Drew, Bo, Shannon, Savannah, and so on and so on. time to close up shop, Monsters, phillips, SBK have all jumped the shark,
Clear channel already has a rock station. Real rock. 101.1. You want rock. Change the station to that. There was a second rock station in town for a while. O-rock. 105.9. Butthey changed formats. Didn't last. Why would you suggest that real radio change to rock when 1 rock station apparently is all that can sustain in this town?

I just don't get it when people don't like a show (tv/radio/movie), instead of just listening to/watching something else, they want the station/show/movie gone. Why does everyoine have to be subjected to your tastes? If I want music, I bring my own in my car. Real radio is the only thing I listen to the radio for.

I stand corrected change agent, his personality and attitude belittles him, I agree with the fact of Bo and Shannon, but my point was that the station does not care for them as people, they offer no help or support, just GET RID OF THEM, do not think for one second that if it were Phillips that he to would be gone, its not the people it is the station the ratings and the groupies that follow. but I do stand corrected, Thank you.

I like tonka, The Christian rock was a joke as was the rock suggestion, it would be better if it were off the air all together, as far as listening to it goes, I do not myself anymore, I DO PRATICE WHAT I PREACH. I did at one time until I found it no longer funny, and as hard as alot of people have it today, to have a group of no talent Idiots put people down for how they look, how they live, or what they have, well you know what I mean.

Just because YOU are no longer entertained, why should they change the format? Why don't YOU change the station and find something else to entertain you? Just because YOU are no longer entertained does not mean non one else is being entertained. Do I think it was funnier years ago? Sure. But that does not mean I still don't enjoy listening. In your world, it seems that if YOU don't like it, it should be off the air. Problem is, you are not hte only one living in this world.

i don't see it hanging on much longer simply because they are slipping in the ratings and a talk radio station that employs local tak... has a lot more overhead and must be #1 or 2 in the target demos every ratings books to generate the revenue to cover all those salaries and other operational costs. look at how many "characters" they employ on every show. even if they are paid a pittance, and many are, it still adds up.

the ratings are not what they were in their hey day - it is getting old.

i used to like philips, but the show has evolved is full of silly banter, trivia games and conversation about themselves and what they do. he used to engage in interesting dialog on a variety of topics, serious and light, issues and entertainment, but there isn't much of that anymore.

Thats my point it has out lived its usefulness, and entertainment, People are welcome to listen I never meant to say different, just lame jokes and best of shows, it has jumped the shark, and soon it willbe faced, like any employer, if you continue to "USE" people it will catch up with you, the die hards are groupies and will not be told anything, these guys are their heros, and what makes there everyday go by quicker, for that I admit I felt the same way awhile back could nt wait to listen to Melissa Fox, ED Till, Monsters Jim Phillips, Bill Cross, but like so many times before when reality sets in and the funniness is gone its over, and it has come to that. now.

"Most confusing, she said, is the animal-cruelty charge, brought on by the .40-caliber bullet that went through the left rear leg of his wife's dog before grazing Catherine Burke's head."
"He was such a pro-animal person," she said.

Most confusing is the fact that he almost murdered his wife!! Or was he already well known as an abuser of women?

I directed you to Wikipedia because you said this:
"And let’s face it, the extremist neo-cons that we see everyday tend to be anti-women, anti-minority, anti-gay, and anti-any religion other than Christianity. You cannot act one way and then simply wish it away by saying so."
That indicated to me that you had no idea what a neoconservative was. Rather than pointing out your ignorance, I tried to help educate you. Feel free to use Wikipedia as a starting point. There are citations in most articles, so you can track sources. If you prefer, you can use a public library. Whatever source you find, I'm guessing you won't find "anti-women, anti-minority, anti-gay, and anti-any religion other than Christianity" elements in the tenets of neoconservatism.
So you sent me to a “source” that claimed neo-conservatism is a force that “bring(s) liberalism, democracy, and human rights to other countries”. Do you honestly expect anyone here to believe that for one second? Neo-cons want to bring “liberalism” and/or “human rights” to who? Where? Do you realize how ridiculous you appear right now? If the radical right was the main violator of human rights in this country, you might actually have a leg to stand on.

If you want any of us to believe that this is the definition of neo-conservatism, then I say YOU have no idea what that means.

Further, anyone who uses Wikipedia as a source for anything would get laughed out of any research facility, school, or journalistic environment.

Just saying something doesn’t make it so. How many times have we heard,“I’m not a racist, but …” or “I’m not sexist, but …” or “I’m not anti-gay, but …” and then the words that usually follow those statements are grotesquely racist, sexist, and/or homophobic. Actions often betray words and you need to stop pretending like we simply cannot look at the history of the GOP to determine exactly who they represent and who they attack.

“liberalism, democracy and human rights”, that’s the funniest thing I’ve read all day. You may not like, but if you act like a racist, sexist and homophobe, nothing you can say will change that reality. If you don’t like being that way, stop treating people that way. Otherwise, just because the shoe is uncomfortable and unattractive doesn’t mean that it doesn’t fit you to a T.
