When Keys first came on the scene, she was the "well spoken, pigtailed piano prodigy" and had success with her first album. Since then, she has gone down the same road Maria Carey went down in that: "all she be wantin is some skreet cred yo" and she is trying to pander to the rap crowd in furtherance of it.

Since her first album, she grew her a$$ to 4 times its normal size, adopted a new language and has been desparately trying to have credibility in the rap world. Sounds like Maria Carey doesnt it?

She should just go back to what she is: a Well Educated Musical Genius and get over it.

The government uses evcerything blacks do and make it into an issue or they have something negative to start from the way balcks speak to how we dress!! She's telling the truth. What they are mad at is mostly all of their children are acting like us, dressing like us, talking like us, marrying us turning into us face it! They wan t America to stay predominantly white. Face it, they might say it but its what they want, some whites are very biased. But i forgive you the way we grew up and did not know a lot of resources about alot of things in the world you all grew not knowing too, so you are afraid of it. I think the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac were both very talented rappers. Whether or not the government played a role in their murders, I lost some respect for Alicia Keys after I read that she wears a gold AK-47 around her neck. I really thought she was more intelligent and educated then that. Whether she meant it as a symbol of hate or just as a symbol of killing people with her talent it's unnecessary. If you are talented as she clearly is, you don't need to wear a symbol to tell people you are. They will know it anyway. If she's wearing it as a symbol of hate, that's just wrong altogether because all white people don't hate black people. Also, the AK-47 has been used by blacks to kill other blacks. So why would she wear something like that especially when she says she's for the preservation and uplifting of black people. That's a contradiction and I know she said it means to kill em dead with her talent but c'mon Alicia. She is not a stupid woman and she had to know that a gun symbol hanging around your neck can be taken out of context. Especially by the media and young people who listen to her and idolize her. They wouldn't take the time to question it, they would just take it literally. I would have expected that from an artist like Khia or somebody but I really thought Alicia was better than that.

All of your making these comments need to first find out if this was actually her statement things printed are always misquoted or taken out of context.
