Nearly 20,000 without power in Hampton Roads
Broken tree limbs and downed power lines had cut electricity to 19,630 homes and businesses in Hampton Roads as of about 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

This is a nice little practice exercise. Think about how you would deal without power for 2 or 3 weeks if we were hit with a hurricane.

No electric for 9 days during Isabel. I actually welcomed the peace and quiet. We were prepared with water for flushing, drinking, washing.
No constant 'drone' of electricity pulsing through the house for tv, refrigerator, clocks, computers, etc. When the electric came back on that hot shower felt darn good, though! |

I loved it when we lost power with Isabel it was just me and hubby then peaful and relaxing.now with a toddler I go crazy after 2 hrs...
