I mean I am all for civil rights and stuff but I mean come on, inmates being allowed to vote?? Are we really that concerned about knowing how an inmate feels about politics, they are in jail for a reason, bad enough we have to feed them and make sure they have cable to watch all day!

Maybe they figure not many people are going to vote this year and they have an abundance of inmates with nothing better to do ... so why not let them vote.. Of course someone will say they will have to exert too much energy to push the levers and it is against their constitutional rights.. After all just because they have wronged the general public they should still be able to have all of the perks... RIGHT!!???()in between is me screaming folks!

Why shouldn't ex-cons be allowed to vote? If they have done the time and paid their debt to society they should be allowed their rights, including the right to vote..

Sorry ladies, but I have to agree with Frankie on this one, just because a person does something stupid in thier lives at one time, doesn't mean that for the rest of thier lives they shouldn't have a say in how thier country is being run. Every situation is different, just like every person is different. AND to me, just because a man/woman is in prison doesn't mean they shouldn't have rights...

When they vote for laws that protect rape vitims what way do you think they will vote??
When they have a vote for the death penalty???
Do you think the system is fair all of the time? I agree that there are innocent people in jail. But they are trying to pass laws right now that does not require convicts to do any time. Columbia County Register Star..front page. Arlene Levinson says this is a great idea. Although I believe that there could be exceptions NET I think this might be a dangerous dea.. IMO

I think it is fine for ex cons to be able to vote I just do not think those who are incarcerated should be allowed to vote while incarcerated

I don't think they should vote while incarcerated either....and everyone is not a rapist, so those men (that are not rapists) would probably vote to keep those sickos right where they are or worse. In prison, cons can't stand rapists and child molesters.....

I hope you guys didn't misunderstand my point. I believe that some of the voters on the outside are more dangerous than the ones incarcerated. There is always a gray area and it gets over looked!!

You are right about that, people that are free sometimes don't use the best judgment in voting....hence George DoulbU....

Once you are convicted of a felony... you lose the right to vote, posses fire arms and run for political office. You (they) should not be allowed to vote. IMHO

They want to be able to vote for elected officals...not in Congress.

What is the last law you voted on Owllover Peckersky?

Maybe in the sticks where you live they don't do this... but out in the real world they put suggestions for laws to be enacted on the ballots.. The people are asked to vote on whether they would like the law or not.. I know it's hard for you to understand the ways of the world GG.. Hang with me I'll do my best to help you. and Thanks for asking....

Citizens certainly can lant the seed for a law. Did I say I voted on a law.. I said they vote to see if people are interested in them. If they are they then present it to legislature to vote on.
Oh Ouch GG.. not an idiot.. I am so hurt.. LOL.. and then squared too.. I have to take my shoes off to count that high... But the good news is... I have shoes!!! Was Rip Torn a favorite of yours too????
