FIRST- school is the child's responsibility. it is their duty to show up on time every day, do their job (listen to the teacher, take notes, study for exams, etc.), and leave at the end of the day. That is a full time job to a child is it not? If they don't do their what they're supposed to do, their grades decrease and they get held back a grade. Same with a workplace, your pay doesn't increase and you won't advance.
SECOND- You sound like the majority of the problem. One of those parents who don't want to make their child responsible for the choices that they make and they sure aren't learning what's expected from them.
One word for ya people RESPECT... teach your kids the meaning of that one word and it's importance and they will succeed
