Yes Mauro,
This maybe so, but did they also furlough u.s. citizens jobs in order to supply low wages to noncitizens and non aliens? And, what about Pan Am, they also had non nationals doing flying out of Europe, but never was there a word about u.s. citizens loosing their jobs. What about the idea of Americans being employed by other countries in Europe and Asia that have desplaced nationals from their jobs. No where is this more apparent than in the u.s. today. And do not get too smug, it is beginning .in the airline business, but very soon coming to an employer near you. Then above all there is a hugh matter of security to be considered, the outsourcing of our ports is presently on the agenda with the security matter being voiced, the same as the airlines, just something to think about. You'll be next.

American Airlines has been practicing that for decades. All its South American services are provided by flight attendant crews based in Chile, Peru, Argentina and Colombia.

Mauro,
I also wanted to add that TWA for sure, maybe AA had language labs allowing their fa's the opportunity to learn a language. Fron what I understand NWA fa's do not have such a luxury. United on the other hand also offers jobs to and I quote foreign nationals but also allow their crew members to be based in the involved countries. As I previously stated do not start celebrating yet, it is coming to an employer near you! Yes Mauro,

Did she say pig? Is that really your name? So befitting for someone who would make a comment like that, dont you think?

I am also a platinum card holder and have had many great experiences during my travels on nwa. She is correct, remember what the response of the Singapore Airlines beautiful cabincrews , the passengers were on CNN stating that they all froze. I am sure that they have since improved their training. My neighbor is an , two streets away there is realtor doing great business,I might add and a friend writer, all are also flight attendants for NWA, all looking beautiful are intelligent and also provide great customer service for NW. So Pig,that is what she called you isnt it? Do some research and stop celebrating your status which is nothing more than a bunch of miles handed to you by your company bought tickets,Im sure.

Hey I wrote my congressman, nwa told congress they did not intend to out source FA jobs. It must be nice to have friends in congress who believe you. I guess NWA never lied? Hum what about my stock for the last Pay cuts in 92 or how about all the times the unions had to take NWA to court to get our snap backs! I know it was all a dream!!!! and we're not in bankruptcy either!!! Still dreaming!!!! oh and those paycuts I just took, I'll make sure I don't need glasses either.

You're right when you say we need to fight for all jobs going overseas. Is there anything in America which is even made here anymore? What happened to the made in the USA label and take pride in doing it? My brother worked for Sarah Lee/Hanes and his job went to Mexico, now those jobs are going to China. I even heard the government is outsourcing the jobs for the ports of the USA to a company overseas. Even our own government don't believe in keeping jobs in the USA!!!!

If your garment says "Made in the USA", it was probably made by in a sweat shop on the island of Saipan. On that island, people are paid slave wages and the sweat shop owners do not have to comply with any U.S. mainland laws. Tom DeLay and the Bush crime family think this is all very American.

I hope you reap what you sow, you pathetic and small-minded man. Nice spelling, you are obviously very educated and worthy of young (thin) maidens responding to your every whim. FYI--I am young and thin and you disgust me.

But I don't know of a finer woman, and you should be so lucky as to have her serve you on your next flight. I would hope you flight attendant crews would go for image instead of people you are serving arriving to the gates with food in hand then asking for crew meals after the fact when you are at departure time. I think you are all beautiful and love what you do . Why don't you show it sometimes. No one will take care of you but you.I still believe you our the best. Show it.

Your answer is stupid. People beleive that because of the image you portray. Instead of fighting the imaage he thinks it is, hang in there because you can.

Q: Why would NWA hire foreign flight attendants?

A: Airlines can hire flight attendants from SE Asia for $200 US per mo. These flight attendants are non union, multi lingual, young, pretty and schmooze up to the customer. I've noticed this repeatedly on flight to/from Asia during the past 30 years.

I don't like to see U.S. jobs outsourced. I do however think that it's important to post what FAs are up against here. This is a most formidable situation.

This situation is further compounded by the large number of frequent business travelers who openly prefer the young FAs from SE Asia. NWA's route structure in Asia is huge thus making this situation so important.

I don't know how the U.S. based FAs can stave off this problem.

Please take a look at the pay scale for the jobs that have been created. I think you will be surprised.
