Yes, I did and he is a big scammer, nigerian and will ask you for money...he is VERY charming and romantic but it is all a sick game!

Thank you. I gathered that after a few weird back and forths. I sent him a pretty nasty message back and did not hear from again. So sorry I allowed myself to even get caught up! Sick is not the word.

Did he still give you the "I'm from Italy but now living in Colorado" story? He has an 11 year old named Frankie? Owns a construction business? He started to reel me in a bit and then called me for money, when I started ignoring his calls and emails, he got really persistent, but then I never heard from him again...he is obviously at it again...sorry you had the displeasure of dealing with him!!

Yes, he did, was on business in Africa, son fell down the stairs, hospital was refusing to operate on him unless he came up with 3000.00 cash, he had no cash because he had advanced his "workers" money to go buy supplies in Europe.....he didn't even try to "woo" me for very long, this emergency happened after only a few days of corresponding, I read on the internet that these Nigerian scams can continue for months before they ask for money - guess he didn't get the memo!(LOL!!)

Same exact story!! I wish there was something we could do to save others. I feel like an idiot! He only talked to me for a week, too. I have a friend with a sister in that is in the CIA, I'm going to see if there is something she can do.

I wish there was a way that the person who's picture he is using could find out. At least the experience made me realize never to use these types of online ventures. Truly realized my vulnerability - you live to learn I guess.

I guess what they say is true, if it seems too good to be true - it is!!

I would love to get him in trouble, or at least get the word out somehow. He really did a number on me!

I signed up on a scam alert web sight and put his "name" on there - and his "story". Can you believe he still tried to contact me even after I called him on this!! He still tried to say that it was not a scam! I have also contact match.com twice, with his "name", his profile name, and I'm trying to get a real live person there so I can send them the pic he is using. I want to bring him down or at least get his "story" out there, the Pic out there to as many women as possible.

I joined ScamWarners. I posted his name, his profile name from Match.com . His email address from yahoo. Check out the ScamWarners. There are some really awful people in the world! I still feel pretty stupid about how I got sucked into all this, but it just goes to show how people go after the lonely and those of us who want so badly to believe that the world doesn't suck as bad as it does!

Take the experience and allow it to make you stronger, that's all. The best we can do after something like this. I just hope my pix is not being used out there! I keep logging in to be sure it is not.

Yup you definately have to be careful when it comes to scammers most of them are from north africa, senegal and then quite a few from ukraine, russia etc.

Basic rule is if someone is asking for money and you have never met them, break contact, report them and never hopefully give your phone number or any other personal details to them. They are criminals through and through and will have no problem using your info for their own ends.

You will find quite a lot of them on craigslist, plentyoffish, match.com posing as females as they can message as a female.
The main sites tend to drag their heals in dealing with them even after reporting especially if they have made a female profile, as it looks good for their member count :(.

I know of three sites that do not tolerate scammers and do all they can to block them and are usually quick to act when dealing with them.

Don't let them get to you, just brush them off your mind like a bad smell and move on.

Thanks everyone for letting me know what his scam is. Damn, he almost had me sucked in. But I was getting weird vibes... He says all the things we ladies want to hear.. lol
I agree that the cute guy who's pics he's using really needs to know! For me, his pics show him with a daughter named Betty.
If there is a way to post the pics he sent me, I'd really like to know.

Please, please don't fall for this guy. When all was said and done I lost about $7,000 in phone bills!! I'm single, in the military and never thought it could happen to me. I deleted all the pics. Lauren Anderson, said he was a single dad, lost his wife in an auto accident. Lost his parents when he was young, moved here from Italy. Oh, so charming. Told me everything I wanted to here. He can cry almost on demand. Please don't give your heart to him, he will break it. He told me he had his son, all he had left. Then his workers needed to go get more materials. He even sent me a pic of "him" on the job, because I asked for it. So he send his workers and all of his money for materials. Then two weeks before he is to fly to meet me for the first time, with my engagement ring, his son falls down concrete stairs. Has a terrible head injury. He puts the doctor on the phone, the doctor explains to me how the hospitals are not like American hospitals, and will only save his childs life if they recieve cash. Lauren has no cash because he sent all he has with his workers. He needs $3,000. I hang up the phone, and never speak to him again because I know its a scam. My phone rings and rings. I call the phone company and take international calls off of my plan. He burns up my email telling my how awful of a person I am. Whatever. He moves on to the next girl, with the same story. Don't do it. It is a scam, but now the child is a little girl. Save your heart. Please don't do it. I don't have proof, I will see if I have any of the emails left and I will post them to you.

Don't be too hard on yourself....he did the same thing to me around Christmas time last year, EXACT same story, son named Frankie, fell and had horrible head injury, his workers were gone to buy materials and took all of his cash, his credit cards don't work there, even the same amount of money needed $3000.00.

You are right, he can cry on command and is very charming and says all of the right stuff, but when you won't give him money or stop answering his calls or emails - watch out! He becomes very nasty and frightening. I had to change my phone number AND email address.

Please know that men like this prey on vulnerable women and, I don't know if you believe in karma, but I do, and I know he will get his one day!!
