The Walgreens machine might drain the old ink out, but it's not a total draining. The only way you can achieve a total draining of the old ink is to put the cartridges in a centrifuge and spin all th eold ink out. Walgreens ain't doing that are they?? They are ripping people off...trying to horn in on the legitimate refilling processes of such places like "Cartridge World". Walgreens continually sends customers to Cartridge World when they can't answer a customer's questions or they encounter a problem with a cartridge that they can't solve. Walgreens has inadequate training for it's personel...thus we get all their business. THANKS WALGREENS !!!! ISAAC // ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Spinning the cartridge won't get out all the ink either. It is suspended in a sponge and you have to replace the sponge to get all the ink out. Don't kid yourself. Look for a local company that uses the Inkjet Factory machines to refill with. They have the absolute best ink and you don't have to deal with a franchise. CW ranks pretty high but they don't compare to the IJF. Markus in MO

Well OMAX lost to EPSON about having third party ink on the shelves for its patents. All of the Office Max cartridges of Epson ink were recalled by the company after losing in court. EPSON does not allow its Ink to be refilled at most stores. Buy a printer with 02 cartridges these days and its about 9.99 a cartridge. Go to office max and get three dollars off for bringing in old HP cartridges. Save yourself most of the cost except for tax this way. Office max does not have the employee man power or pay to have someone certified on the machines. They put whoever management feels should be there without any training.

I wouldn't refill at walgreens, The machine seems to have issues telling when something is actually full. If you want quality, get a new cartridge. There is very little training done for anything at walgreens.

I have had a disaster with Walgreen's cartridge refills. They never last! My latest episode was that my machine kept saying the cartridge needed to be realigned. I took it back in; they refilled it, charged me another $10 and then said the cartridge might be damaged and I should probably take it to a regular ink replacement company to have it checked.
The topper is it did work, but ran out of ink very quickly. I decided to go back to purchasing new HP cartridges. When I inserted the HP 45; it said it was the wrong cartridge. I know for a fact it is HP 45. In checking out the refilled cartridge I had just taken out, it was a refilled HP 15. Have no idea what that is, but it was substituted by Walgreens for the HP 45 I brought in. NOW, it will only take the HP 15; and will not take my HP 45. I thought it might be a defective cartridge, so purchased a second one--the exact same thing happened. Has any one else had this experience????

How in the world could they remove all the old ink??? Besides, think about it, the cartridge is being refilled because IT'S ALREADY EMPTY!!!
By the way, Walgreen's also sells factory remanufactured cartridges. It's not just a choice between a brand new one or refilling your old one as some claim.

Yes the machines at Walgreens does suck the old ink out and replace it with new ink. We also have to send them through test prints to make sure they are printing right before we can sell them back to the customer. If it doesn't work the customer doesn't get charged!

Bottom line, if you want quality ink, you better be prepared to pay for it. Same goes for anything else. You wouldn't buy 10 dollar jewelry and expect it to shine & last as long as the stuff you buy in department stores. Honestly, people! If you want to get something cheap -- it's not going to be as good quality as the more expensive stuff. It's not a hard concept to understand.

No more Walgreens ink refills. I have spent $45 on 3 HP-57 color cartridge refills and got 30 pages per cartridge.$15 for 30 pages on "Normal" and "Everyday" setting on my printer.

Never ever get your shit refilled unless you just need crap prints. Refilled ink voids your printer warranty. Many customers used to come into Comp for service on there printers with carts leaking and stuff, sorry go buy another printer.
At omax our gm says it's the same ink, yeah, he knows, that's that high school education at work.

Next your going to tell me Sams club cola and Coke are exactly the same. ROFL
And yes, omax pushs the refil, most employees don't even test the cartridges anymore because corporate want 15-20 sold a day.

omax ink refiller, you are an idiot. It's against the Law for any manufacturer to claim a refilled cartridge will void your warranty. Warranties are absolutely meaningless, why do you think retailers have to sell replacement plans? I Imagine if you haven't been fired yet, you will be soon. Tell me which store you work at? Officemax has not installed inkmachines in their new stores(all 70 that opened last year), because of service issues since they actually bought the machines from the manufacturer. It is terrible right now. If you decide to refill your ink...ask the person'when was the last time the machine was calibrated?" If they don't tell you "once a week", then I would skip it..you are in for headaches. Otherwise it is a thorough process that takes money from the Pockets of HP and Lexmark and puts it in to the pockets of the idiots who run Officemax. Officemax has probably the worst leadership of all retailers(including Macy's and Target). Customer's and employees should be teaming up against these moron's not each other. No one of even the slightest education, should ever find themselves shopping there or working there. I learned that the hard way. Well, time to go to run my store.....at STAPLES. Where we don't exploit our associates in order to maintain our bonuses.

HP is no doubt the largest corporate predator since Enron. Please, do yourself a favor: do not now or ever again purchase another HP product.
Charging nearly $70.00 for ink cartridges that generally last less than one month is probably driving a profit level that would be the envy of Shell Oil Company.
I do hope Hewlett Packart is eventually driven out of business by their predatory practices.
Please do not purchase any HP product ever again: remember your dollars are votes; don't vote for this kind of outrageously overpriced garbage sold by the Devil's own HandMaiden, Hewlett-Packard.
Thank you for letting me vent!

Yo, just wanted to point out that HP does not recycle INKJET cartridges into new cartridges (maybe they do on toner, I'm not sure). The cartridges you send to them for recycling are sold to recycling companies to be turned into products like CD's and coffee mugs, NOT new inkjet cartridges

I am one of those customers who bought an Re manufactured OfficeMax Inkjet color cartridge , who came home , started printing and the ink ran out (started printing very lightly ) after one sheet!!! By the 3rd sheet there was no color at all just black. Unbelievable!! Now I am on my way back to the store for a refund or to buy the Regular Canon Cartridge like I should have in the first place . I thought I was saving money;l now I lost money because the Store is about 20 miles away!! So I agree you get what you pay for!!!

Bret is right that you get what you pay for; Denny is right that the ink is a complex formula. Working for HP doesn't make them wrong, and they may actually know more about it than you all do- unless you're chemists or experts in ink or printing technology.
Go ahead and try the refillers and see what you get ; it may actually be a good deal if you want low-quality images and basic text. We all know the prices on the cartridges are obscene, but you knew when you bought the printer that it was like buying one of the new four blade razors...

Denny Eyberg, you must work for HP! You sound just like your just spreading fake propaganda that you don't even believe They charge outrageous, exorbitant prices for their cartridges. And they are very wasteful trying to force so many consumers feel that their cartridges which they own are useless and should be discarded into the trash(headed for a landfill).
