In the private sector, if someone did this, they would loose their job and rightly so! Now of course, this is the goverment, where stupidity and watse is standard practice, so this A*S*S*H*O*L*E will probably get a raise and be promoted! of course, once he removes his brown nose from the City Managers A*S*S!!

Since when is furniture NOT compatible.......The company I work for has moved into several locations in the last 10 yrs and I still HAVE my furniture. MAKE IT WORK!!! GIVE ME your old furniture, and in 10 yrs I will still have it....... I may be in a new office, but I will still have that furniture!! What a waste of money!! OK, my office furniture is all hand-me-down stuff, probably 20-25 years old. I'm sure one couldn't get $200 for all of it. However, it is clean and functional, which is more than I can say for these sleezy politicans! My furnature has not stopped me from doing business on it for the past 8 years. If these jerks are hell-bent on having "new" furnature, why can't these sleezy politicans just go out and get the same at some of these liquidators? With 20 Million out of work, there is tons of good quality office furniture out there for 10 to 20 cents on the dollar. Why not save $700K to $800K and give it to the schools, animal shelter and senior citizen center instead of wasting it on your sorry A*S*S*E*S!!

You mean it wasn't Jayne's job to wire the building properly for IT needs?

It's nice that we all practice our right to free speech, but how about ACTION? How about showing up at the next town hall b.s. meeting and SHOW them how upset we all are? We have a right to protest. Politicians do these outrageous things because they know they'll get away with it. Why do we allow them to waste our monies when they'll be gone in one term anyway? The councilor's and commissioner's believe they are of the utmost importance, and have tons of power when they don't! The voters are the ones who dictate to them, and I believe that fact was thrown out the window by them all year's ago. It's time to bring the government back under the people! How many of you are willing to voice your opposition at the next city meeting?

"Go back to bed, America. It's okay, the government knows what to do and has your best interests in mind. Just keep funneling that cash to us in the form of taxes, fees, surcharges, and more taxes." The political machine knows exactly what they're doing and just how far they can go until widespread civil disobedience ensues. They're not there yet, as the masses are still relatively content and pretty much have everything they need - just enough to keep them docile. I can bet if I went to a Walmart parking lot and asked a few random people how they felt about our elected representatives spending over one million dollars on furniture and the latest electronics during one of the most intense recessions in modern times, most would answer with things like "Huh?" or "That sucks, but I bet it's gonna look cool!" or "There's a new city hall?" The demonstration would just be you and me, lcnative, and would soon prove to be pointless.

As you (and our dear leaders) can see in the other thread, the opening of a new Olive Garden restaurant is much more of a priority and holds more importance than the issues that really matter.

I agree with you, 100% and I don't think folks behave this way out of ignorance. I believe it is pure laziness and selfishness. Do as little as you possibly have too. That should be this Country's motto. Don't bring us your tired and your hungry, we have plenty of those, and it would require us to work. The majority of people revel in their right to sit on their obese butts and complain about the way things are done. They have no problem typing, but ask for more and it will fall on deaf ears. With the new cell phone ban being approved by the City wannabe important elected officials, I plan on requesting via the Public Information Office and Mr. Udell Vigil, a report that shows how much money taxpayers fork over every month on cell phones for City employees. All of you have the right to request that same information at anytime, anyday. Once I get that report, I am going to request prior to the ban going into affect, how many City departments purchased handsfree headsets. All coming out of my (the taxpayer's) pockets. Government employees have long forgotten that not only are they employees, but they are also TAXPAYERS. They see money in their accounts and they spend it on whatever they see fit. They treat these accounts as their own. Guess what morons, it is your's but it's also mine and every other taxpayer and we're not going to allow you to do continue this without a fight.
