Report Says 75 Percent of Young Americans Unfit for Military Service

Full story: www.foxnews.com

About 75 percent of the country's 17- to 24-year-olds are ineligible for military service, largely because they are poorly educated, overweight and have physical ailments that make them unfit for the armed forces, according to a report issued Thursday.

I couldn't get in either, even after college! I was too underweight, and my history of migraines prevented me from getting a waiver on the weight requirement. When I was finally heavy enough to get a waiver for the migraines, I was too old!

Oh well, worked out for me and Blondie I guess... we probably wouldn't have met if I were overseas.

start the draft and lower the economy. that would make them live tough and keep them in shape and looking good like people in the 50's.

Whats the point of starting a draft if 75% of draft age people are unfit for service?

People in the 50's were fit for a variety of reasons. The draft not really being one of them.

And those who post how they love their country?

Makes you wonder when we have free education and 25% or more of the population can't even read or write?

I sure would not want them with a gun in their hands, but they will kill now over nonsense.

Not a surprise, gym, sports, playing outside has been superseded by instant gratification of video games, internet and TV. The 'not cool' boyscouts, girlscouts, etc.
Another rather interesting thing I have picked up in my reading. Omega 3 and Omega 4, simple things, Omega 3 is good for you, Omega 4 is not, has to do with fat. Years ago all the livestock in this country was fed from green plants, high in Omega 3, now the livestock is fed with products that don't contain any Omega 3, just Omega 4 which builds fat. The main reason fish are high in Omega 3 is they eat green stuff that contains it. Amazing what you can pickup in your throne room from the back of the library holding tank :-)))))

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
