Hey friends,
Can any one tell me the approximate pressure of the natural gas flowing out of a well head.the natural gas flowing out of a well can be directly fed in to a pipe line or should it be pressurized for further transportation.

the need for compression varies, volume of gas, pressure, pipeline distance, sales point pressure, pipeline size etc.

I have a natural gas well that we heat our house, cook dry clothes the hot water heater etc. My grandfather used to get oil off of this well, but it hasn't produced oil in 100 years. We had the caseing redone about 25 years ago. There is a pump that pumps the water off this is breaking the belts on the moter, if you can't pump the water out of the ground, you can't get the gas out. The guy that worked on the caseing has passed away, he lived in Scottsville, KY, I live in Franklin, Ky which is on the KY, TN line. Do you know of any one that works on natural gas wells? I haven't been able to find any one. Thanks Margaret

I know that when you switch from propane to NG or vise versa that you have to change out the orfice on the hot water tank. It has to do with the gas composition make. Propane is heavier. As far as storing NG, it is difficult unless you have a way to compress it.

Hey Aaron, my natural gas regulator has frozen. It's fed from a private gas well. I'm trying to thaw it and make sure it doesn't freeze again. Any ideas? Thanks, MJ

Same thing happened here! We are getting desperate, can't stand paying for gas. Have built a protective box today and have pipe heat taped and added a light bulb to help heat.
If anyone has any ideas please email me at soccermomiam@gmail.com

Hello,
I converted from propane to natural gas from a neighboring well and I have had a problem with inconsistent gas pressure. I have a drip that is located about 300 feet from the well and a one inch plastic line that runs 800 feet up hill to an exterior low pressure regulator at my cabin. The pressure at the drip is 8 pounds and it seems to have plenty of pressure to the regulator. It is a new regulator that worked fine for few months. I cleaned it and dried it out in side a warm location and is still wont work. Can I test it or rebuild it? It also has an oily residue in the pipe at the regulator, can that be the problem and can it be filtered? It has been very cold but is has colder and it was working. I live in southeastern Ohio, Logan to be precise. If you have any advise It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Jeff

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another.
