Price of gold in Ghana

I am quite a layman in the field of gold, but could anybody tell me what the current price of gold would be if one would try to sell it in Ghana? I think it will be quite low, but I just want to be sure.

Dear archiefarm,

I haven't found any mine with special contacts. Someone is trying to persuade me to (financially) help get gold out of Ghana, where the price is ridiculously low (or so this person states), so it can be sold in Europe.

I don't trust this person but want to be sure, so my question is: what is the current price of gold on the Ghanaian market really?

You can not sell gold in Ghana unless you are samll scale local miner...

The best you can if you are in Ghana and have cash is 2-3% off that days spot LME. However if you do not have an export license you can not export said product. You will NEVER purchase gold in Ghana for less than 3% under spot price. Their no cheap GOLD.....

If you want to buy Gold from Ghana, you can for 1.75% below spot using a BG with a buy of at least ten kilos. gold nuggets 92+ purity (22K+) payment 48 hours after arrival at buyers free zone airport.

Or you can mine it! either way let me know your intentions.

Yes. You can sell it in Ghana. However, as a private person--- if you do not have a gold buying or selling license you cannot carry it on your person. It is not legal to buy or sell without a license. The buying price is about 3%-6% under spot and the selling price is about 2%-1.50% under. Make no mistake about it you will never see a grame of gold if you think you can come to Ghana and buy. If you have a gold trading business in Ghana, now that is a different ball game. Let me say this: as you know Gold is very rare, very hard to find and when you do it is harder to get out of the gound.

Dear Roman,

We can deliver gold to your destination of choice, or you can visit the cooperate office in Ghana and transport it your self. We pay all of the export duty on said product. The gold is secured by a Bank Guarantee (BG) with Standard Chartered Bank as the beneficiary.--- Payment is 48 hours after plane (KLM) lands at given destination. We can deliver ten to three hundred kilos of 92+ purity (22k) on contract for one year, with the first delivery as a trial run. The cost is 1.75% below LME spot for 22k.

The other option is to actually mine the gold. Our company has a licensed gold concession on the Sefwi Gold Belt in Southwestern Ghana with a Greenstone geological setting which needs to be explored.

We have the data for this concession --- if interested, I will send. The cost to mine an ounce of gold is around $450 usd. The cost for Phase One reconnaissance is 169,400 usd.(I might add that Newmont discovered 17 million ounces of gold on the same Gold Belt)

I am presently in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and will soon return to Ghana.
