Todd, we HAVE all changed the station, and would like to change it back.... but WITHOUT the weasel. That is why the 10 negative to one positive response to wease here. If the staion lost you 10%, but gained even 50% of the people that may come back, it is a no brainer for the radio station.... tell wease... CCCCCC YAAAAAAA

Wease, on the radio this morning:“No company buys a radio station that’s losing money.”

Preposterous lie. Or incredibly stupid? Uh - we all know that is exactly what media corporations do, have done and will continue to do. Acquire stations cheaply, as many as you can in one market, change formats, consolidate advertising, etc…

For that matter, it’s what every investor does. Let me guess, alan – you only buy high and sell low, right? Hope someone else is watching your portfolio.

Statements like this add to the public’s growing dislike. If you can’t be smart, be honest.

WCMF is making money and has a positive cash flow. Entercom purchased the station group at a premium price and would NOT have done so if they had a negative cash flow. CBS Radio did not sell from a weak position in this market, they simply made a corporate decision to focus their efforts on the top 25 markets. Bottom line. Entercom decided to purchase to increase their portfolio, increase their revenue - and yes, probably because they saw room for even more revenue growth by eliminating beloved heritage radio personalities and the price tags they bring. They are betting that you, the general public, will continue to go about your lives and continue to listen to the stations that threw out veteran personalities as easily as they threw out the old CBS letterhead. And it hurts me to say, but they're probably right.

And, Roy, if you know anything about Wease, you'd know that honest is something that Wease has always been - even when it's not in his best interests.

What I do not quite understand, is this guy admits to illegal gambling (racketeering) everyday, which is a felony. Why would you even THINK about renewing his contract? He should be in jail, NOT in the radio spewing his illegal activities. COME ON STATE POLICE... follow him for a day and put him where he belongs, behind bars. That will make Entercoms job much easier. Between the drugs, and all other illegal crap he has admitted to, 50 years in jail for his sins seems appropriate

Haha - now THAT'S funny. Let's throw away the key for these "sins" - like GAMBLING! You know, because gambling is so anti-American. Now, if you'll excuse me - I've got tickets to scratch off. And have you played your New York State Lottery today? And I suppose you think that Vegas is such a huge vacation hub because of the buffets? And we're talking about sins now! Goddamn! Have you people lost your minds? Just turn your radio to the all god all the time channel and let other people enjoy life. That's what Jesus would do. You know what? He'd probably play a few hands of cards, too.

Positive cash flow? Who cares. You miss the point - or refuse to acknowledge it. Whether or not cmf, pxy, Entercom or anyone else is making money is irrelevant.

The statement itself was ludicrous.
And insults listeners' intelligence. We're tired of being talked down to.

Roy that was your entire point he disproved, so you can quiet down now, you're just making yourself look bad.

I laughed out loud at the guy who wanted to put Wease in jail for playing cards. It's his money, not yours.

It's a good thing youre an angry stuck up prick who will never see anything over his cubicle walls for the rest of his life, and not someone important like a judge or police officer, because jesus christ we'd be living in Nazi Germany reborn!

1st of all, Wease is not a shock jock. He's not. He's a Rochester man, talking about Rochester things with Rochester people - and doesn't pull punches or bend over backwards to make sure that your precious christian ears aren't offended. The real world is much more shocking than a DJ could ever be.

Second of all.... Who the F*CK cares about gambling? You ever speed? Have you ever played Fantasy Football? People play that for money - should they be fired and arrested? Ooh - how about that March Madness office pool? Technically illegal. Want to see Bill from accounting behind bars? What about church bingo? Would it bring you great satisfaction to see Aunt Ethel put into Shawshank? better not drop the soap, Grandma!!

Now, the real question should be - why do you give a shit that a consenting adult has decided to spend the money that they earn on a game of cards? Just because YOU don't want them to? Because YOU'RE against it? If I were you (and I am infinitely thankful that I'm not) I'd worry about the pressing issues in my own life and let others live their lives. But then again, you're probably the type of person that is against gay marriage, saggy pants, and Janet Jackson's left boob, too. But I bet you are a big red-blooded fan of the USA and it's "freedoms". It's all sadly ironic.

I would expect a response like that from you. Your hypocrisy cries out behind the very greed that drives that greedy "all about me slob" Wease. Not one comment in here is able to change my mind about that. And please, don't insult both you and I by trying to tell me what I should believe it. Its obvious that you have faith in that luggie hawkin slob. Iv been around that boozing illegal hound and trust me, I'm less than impressed. But you go on and support your worthless DJ.

Nice to see that you, like your idol engage in illegal activity. I could care less on how you want to justify it.. ITS still ILLEGAL. You and him should join forces, "The slob and his side kick."

What kind of response did you expect? A well thought, logical response that addresses the inconsistencies in yours? One that points out that maybe you don't REALLY care about the gambling, or about breaking certain laws yourself - and that in the end, as always, this will come back to Wease's vocal political and/or religious opinions?

And when did I espouse any opinions that you could link to greed? I have reread my post and I don't see where you could get the impression that I was greedy? Is it because I used my freedom to express an opinion that differs from yours? I do still have that right in the new and improved and terror free U S and A, don't I? Is that greedy? Is it greedy of me to want to be able to choose for myself what radio programs I select to hear and not have to censor my entire life so that it fits into your narrow view of what is right?

And at what point did I say that I engaged in illegal activities? I hate gambling. I hate card games. I think that it is one of the silliest and least constructive ways that you could spend your time and money - but you know what else? I think that adults should be able to do so if they choose. Because I believe in freedom.

And as far as Wease being a "worthless" DJ - I think that the free market economy will establish his worth in the very near future. And I bet that number will be in the hundreds of thousands. And you know what else? It will be worth it to Entercom because there is only one Wease. It might seem unfair or unreasonable to you, and please take this the wrong way - but there are quite literally THOUSANDS of you. That's why your paycheck is probably alot smaller. You're expendable. You're interchangable. I don't know what you do, but based on your correspondance, I'm guessing that it could be done by anyone with a G.E.D. Your job sucks, your life sucks and that sucks. I understand. It's tough love.

And as far as me getting a job on Wease's show? Maybe it would be better if you did. That way you could entertain us all by telling us what we shouldn't do because it doesn't mesh of your beliefs.

wease was a good DJ in the early 80's.but he went down hill fast in the late 80's and keep going down " bra" who cares about a DJ'S personal life anyway. a DJ is there to play music and not to bring their personal life to the air waves. THAT GOES FOR KIMBERLY AND BECK ALSO.

I look forward to Wease returning very soon. Although Tommy and Sally are very good I doubt I'll stay as a regular listener without Wease.
