Geeze, what a flat out lie. This movie bombed. It made only 3 million its opening weekend. Even Michael Moore's movies made 3-7 times that.

Actually, it did make it to #10 (I checked) But I do think saying "Expelled Explodes into Top 10 Box Office" or "...as it propelled full speed..." is quite a stretch to say the least

"Explodes into Top 10 Box Office"... lol. The fundamentalist capacity for rationalization never ceases to amaze me. They're like the "Baghdad Bob" of religion. I've seen so many claims over this movie, like how evolutionists are "floored", atheists are "sputtering", etc. etc. etc. These fundies are the same people that accuse science of pushing their "agendas" using Goebbels-style propaganda. Talk about bending the needle on the ol' irony meter.

What a laugh. Three million....The thumpers claimed The Golden Compass bombed when it made substantially more than that on it's opening weekend.

Exactly what "agenda" does evolution push Wayne? It's a scientific theory, not a political ideology.

Evolution has but one agenda - the search for scientific truth. Just like all the rest of science. Now you creo/ID guys? You're the ones with an agenda. "Expelled"'s very existence is proof of that.

1) Expelled quotes Charles Darwin selectively to connect his ideas to eugenics and the Holocaust.
When the film is building its case that Darwin and the theory of evolution bear some responsibility for the Holocaust, Ben Stein's narration quotes from

funny that when its pointed out that thru-out history various christians have used the entire bible as well as select quotes, as well as the ramblings of some enlightened preachers to justify massive atrocities, they cry foul but dont see the foul here...

that a few non-scientists mis-used Origin of Species to bolster an already long ongoing racial prejudice (much already sourced from the bible and the pulpits) and come up with a new twist to condemn jews and others thru social engineering, its ALL condemning to the true meaning of the Origin of Species, and the ToE...

roughly 10 years of Nazi reign tosses the actual truth of why they condemned the jews/others to death (much based on long standing readings of the bible) and its due to Darwin...not the truh of the matter...

scapegoats, its all christians truly seek. they have been blaming others for societies ills and their own atrocities for centuries and typically its the victims they blame. its the gays, the witches, the jews, the secularists, the liberals, the muslims, the RC's, etc, and many times each other...

your symbol shouldnt be the cross, but a pointed finger...

You guys sure do sound sour that the movie did as well as it did, lol!

No big Hollywood budget, a documentary film, hardly any advertising and it still did this well. Bet that just erks your taters.

"In an impressive opening weekend, the film debuted at No. 9 at the box office, earning a respectable $3.2 million while only appearing on 1,052 screens.

“Leatherheads,” the story of a struggling football team based in Duluth, Minnesota, and written and directed by George Clooney, trailed the new documentary film, placing at only No. 10 its third week at the box office, despite showing at over twice as many screens."

not at all. its when adam sandler makes money that I get pissed, no talent as$-clown.

but the business Q is what did it cost to make? most small movies spend at least that much to be made and promoted...so we'll see if it made money...
