They should not be equated with aborted babies. They are a cultured cell line. This means that they are individual cells that grow well in a dish in culture. Yes they were derived from a single human embryo in the 1970s, but this was a single event. Pepsi and Senomyx are not killing babies to flavor its beverages. Senomyx is likely using these cells to do experiments on the receptors that allow you to taste things. They are trying to understand how these receptors work to make better taste additives. This is how drug companies make the thousands of drugs that keep us all alive when we are sick. No difference. So if you want to stop Pepsi, Senomyx, and everyone else from using these cells and similar technologies, go ahead, we will all be dead of some very treatable disease in 10-20 years.
