Steelworkers give Goodyear 72-hour strike notice

The United Steelworkers of America gave Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. notice that it may strike after 1 p.m. Thursday if the two sides cannot agree on a new contract before then.

Lok I grew up in union territory...i do not live there now and am greatly paying the price for sunshine and no benefits....Long live the union and stop buying foreign........Kathy

looks like someone is trying to stir up some $hit... article could not be found thru search and the 18th is on a Saturday. This was from the last strike most likely as that was on a Thursday that the walkout happened

Maybe someone's jumping the gun a little but the current union contract ends on July 17th/18th timeframe. Anyone heard about a call for a strike yet?

so MrsJJ, should we all work for nothing and turn our good jobs into shit jobs? I don't want my job to be like a Wallmart job! Give back now and we will never regain our give backs. GT is not in bad financial shape! GT in the last few years has record sales and profits and for from bankruptcy! Concessions are not an option!
