I work in the Greeneville office and am amazed they are still hiring drivers. We have 270 trucks in the fleet and we have about 70-90 per day that we are paying layovers to. If they promised you miles, it is a lie. Landair is struggling financially and things are bad here. I see it from the inside. Look through the blogs and tell me this is a good company. There are a handful of drivers who have been with them for years and run either dedicated or semi-dedicated runs who may do okay. Outside of that, I would advise to look elsewhere.
Could you tell me who and how I can contact about getting my husband's unemployement starightened out. I got sick in Feb. and Landair sent him discharge papers. The unemployement office called and said that Landair told them that he quit. This is so very wrong. My husband has numerous awards for his job performance over the last 4 years, and he does not deserve what Landair is doing to him. I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me who to call. I'd reall love to know how to contact Scott Niswonger!!

I'm getting ready to leave landair.BAD company to go with .Hate to say it but JB hunt was better. I got 3 restarts in the 10 days .And when it was time to go home they wanted me to just stop through say a few things to my wife them go. I refused the load and it made them mad but oh well . They are also going to shut off there EZ pass as of MAY 1 09. You then have to pay for your tolls. Don't look to be getting reimbursed anytime soon.I paid for mine havent seen it yet. If a person is going to drive for them good luck . Out of Columbus OH terminal they are hireing all the time turnover rate is worse thn JB or Swift and thats bad for a smaller company.

This is my last week at Landair. As everybody is saying, the miles 2500 to 3000 a week is a joke.If you know anything about trucking and the 34 hr restarts you know it's rough when you get 3 in only 10 days. Then come time for hometime they wanted to let me swing by the house talk to my wife and leave again the next day. They got a little upset when I refused the load. But they say 10 days then home 2, so im taking 2. Also in case you didn't know, landair is shutting off their EZ passes on MAY 1st, so now you will have to pay for your tolls. They said they would reimburse you but I had to pay for mine. And don't look forward to getting money back. They also give me the wrong directions to a P/U, and more or less I got blamed for being late on a load. Also I've had problems on weekends getting dispatch to get me loaded and moving. Usually have to sit. This company is closing down the Toledo Terminal, as I said. Supposed to shut off Prepass and heard a few others but can't be sure on that - it was just hearsay. But the EZPASS was from my dispatcher. So if you go to work for them, good luck. But as a driver I wouldn't go anywhere near that place. They don't treat you as a driver.(Just a nobody). Paycheck for them and somebody to blame stuff on so they won't get the blame.

I now drive for Landair and have no problem getting miles. Some drivers want to go home all the time. They forget how it was in the old days when you stayed out 3weeks. I just left a job that let me sit in NJ 2-3 days a week ( not payed) because of slow freight. The place i drove for before that went out of buisness last Thanksgiving without warning! I have seen the message Swift has sent out telling some of their drivers to buy the truck or they might have to find a differant Co. They are downsizing to 1500 Co. trucks. I also called Warners front office and they said YES they are laying off in some divisions! Better find a Co that gives you some miles QUICK because its going to get worse b4 it gets better!!!!!!

im so glad i took the time to review this report,
not just for me but for my family sake as well.
being a driver is a long day compared to most
9-5 or 10 hr days so when it comes to our
home time,decent routed miles,and mission-
impossible times forced on drivers i rather not accept their position for hire they can keep it.

They are now saying u must atleast stay out 2 weeks at a time but on those weekends u will sit 90% of time. and when u are suppose to go home they most of the time try to give u the run around.. They tell u to screw with your log book to make loads happen and if u dont they give u a service failure..the worse company i have worked for and the the trucks are about the biggest piles of junk on the road.. never talked to one driver in 4 months that had good stuff to say about them and if u dont belive me just stop one sometime and ask them. and to the one asking about unemployment not sure but u can call these numbers i have for them 877-461-2244.. and if they do me wrong on my unemployment after telling me to turn in truck because i had 2 family furnals to go to i will be posting stuff ever few days with all numbers i can find for them even old dispatchers numbers..

I got sick and had to go to the hospital at the end of Feburary. My husband asked if he could take a couple of days off while I recovered. Landair told him that he neede to take a "leave", but that was okay. Two days later we got a certified letter from Landair with Cobra papers (which stated that he was laid off due to lack of hours). He deided to file for unemployement; however, we neede a "separation notice" to do so. When we got the separation notice, it stated that he was discharged due to his performance. The next week we recieved in the mail a Safety award and Performance award certificates. A few days later, the unemployement office called and told us that Landair told them that my husband quit. I tried to call Landair to see what is up...they won't return my calls. I have contacted a lawyer and they are ready to handle Landair for us!!! That's the thanks gave my husband for 4 years of outstanding job performance!!!
think i am in same boat u got the lawers name might need myself thanks

After almost 4 yrs. as a Landair driver I want to say that I too have heard all the complaints frm present and past drivers. I have also went thru some issues with them and have considered leaving. One incident was a serious attack on my on integrity and ability as a driver that I wont forget. But I am trying to be fair and understand they are trying to correct these problems. I hope they find the right solution soon because I truly believe they have good people trying to do an impossible job in an economic environment that is stressed to the breaking point in all industries. I wish you all luck. "Live Long And Prosper".

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aries

It's one of those days when you'd be wise to mind your Ps and Qs if you want to avoid putting both feet in it or feeling like a fool. The trouble is that you're finding it hard to think before you speak, and you're rushing into situations without thinking about the possible consequences. All you can do is to apologize and try your hardest not to let it happen again.
