Today (March 12, 2007)airfreight carriers begin checking shipper IDs at the time of pick up. In my many years in the industry, I have never seen a new regulation implemented with so little information available. It is not even clear in the TSA reg that this is a requirment. As of Friday March 9, the carriers were still scrambling to announce this.

Does anyone have any insight into this?
