Full story: Bennington Banner

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg won a third term as New York mayor Tuesday in a closer-than-expected race against a Democratic challenger who stoked voter resentment over the way Bloomberg changed term-limits law so he could stay in office.

Imagine what the peopleof New york could have spent that campaign money on?
100 million dollars could feed and cloth alot of children or payoff a few mortgages.

Many people will recall the after dinner speech in Astoria, Queens when Rudy Guiliani addressed a group and said, " Remember folks, a fart is just a turd honking for the right of way."
The applause he received was deafening.

FYI I know he used his own money but I can think of a better cause to donate to. I happen to be a woman happily married to a man for 20 years. Don't worry your Govenor will be legalizing gay marriage there too. Personal attacks just shows your ignorance. People like that make me glad I left NY in the first place. I do worry about NY where my family lives. Next time you might try smiling in your picture or is that a mug shot?

I must ask:

WHO CARES what NOO YAWK CITY does? WHO CARES what happens down there? If Bloomie wants to spend 100 million, that's HIS business.

Personally, Noo Yawk City could float off into the Atlantic tomorrow and I for one will not miss it.

OK, Bloomberg bought another mayoral term with his BILLIONS.
Those that voted for him will get what they deseve; higher taxes, more homelessness and developers running through the city like a kid in a candy store.
I wish the residents of NYC well, you got what you deserved.

Unbelievable. The law says only two terms so Bloomie uses his billions to change the law!!! And the idiot sheep still vote for him, though i'm sure many of the votes were phony.

Democracy is a joke.

He should not have overturned the term-limits law, loophole or not. That just proved that he no longer is a businessman as he ran his first campaign as, but another opportunistic politician.

"UM" you mean corrupt Bloomberg will give the city away to his ultra corrupt criminal "Mafia" developer cronnie Pal's who he is on the take by and made secert deals with?!. YEP!

This is a worst case sernerio of the 1955 george reeves superman episode with the Real criminal boss's running the city again.

Want to Denie it?

Just look at corrupt former NY police commissioner Bernard Kerik who was Giuliani's (son of a mob boss) right hand man who was busted by the feds for corruption.

(See Mr. 911)

I'm posting on a Vermont forum in a Vermont newspaper. I don't need your invitation or permission to do anything. So get over yourself. You're not that important.

NOO YAWK can float into the Atlantic tomorrow and again, I will not miss it one bit! Actually, it might improve the region.
