Obama takes aim at critics in media - Sentinel & Enterprise

Full story: Sentinel & Enterprise

One way or another, the Obama administration is trying to shut up its critics, and if that requires plopping First Amendment free-speech guarantees into a six-foot grave and covering the principles up with mud, so be it.

Does this remind you of Venezuela? Just because Obama (Admin) thinks FOX is critisizing them, they think they have the right to stiffle them? Last I heard, this country has freedom of speech. If you watch FOX, they have the most Dems vs Repbs watching, percentage wise, than the other news channels. They do offer both sides in their programs. Yes, Hannity is pro Repub! Beck is a Liberterian? O'Reily is Independent. Fox also has the largest ratings of the cable news programs. If you have not watched FOX regularly, don't comment on them. It may be wise to watch them to find out what is really going on in the country. Watch and make your own decisions? Don't just watch a program because it favors your party!

The criticism is not the problem. Passing that criticism off as journalism is the problem. If there were truely a seperation between their news and their commentary, there would be no issue. That is not the case, however, and the Obama admin is simply pointing that out and acting accordingly.

Real news is non partisan. Just the facts. Fox does not do that.

In America the President reigns for four years, and Journalism governs forever and ever.
Oscar Wilde

A long life in journalism convinced me many presidents ago that there should be a large air space between a journalist and the head of a state.
Walter Lippmann

I am deeply interested in the progress and elevation of journalism, having spent my life in that profession, regarding it as a noble profession and one of unequaled importance for its influence upon the minds and morals of the people.

The lowest form of popular culture - lack of information, misinformation, disinformation, and a contempt for the truth or the reality of most people's lives - has overrun real journalism. Today, ordinary Americans are being stuffed with garbage.
Carl Bernstein

The nature of journalism has been the enemy of idealism and the source of cynicism among American reporters and editors throughout our history.
Richard Harwood

There's a certain elitism that has crept into the attitudes of some in journalism, and it played out perfectly over the issue of these little American flag lapel pins.

Hey Obama, the Fox network and the Conservatives are just saying how we all feel. You didn't win unanimously, far from it.

In fact I think some of the White votes you enjoyed have left. See ya in 2010 and 2012

What country do you live in? Hear of the first amendment, it's in the Constitution. Obama wants to take it away from radio and TV news. Only Dictators do such things, wakeup to reality. This President has turned his back to the war, millions out of work, and wants to ram a reform bill down our throat and a host of other bills. People are angry, and I don't blame them. Everything Obama said he do, he has NOT. He can't be trusted no more than you can. Your the problem just like Obama is. People like you can't stand the truth.

The Obama administration is making on of the biggest rookie mistakes the can. I guess they never read up on the history of Nixon vs the media. Hum... Media won!

Many in the MSM don't care for FOX but they are now seeing how if you don't play by this administrations rules they'll try to silence you and their not liking it too much either. They didn't like it when Dead Fish Rahm gave them their warning about not following any of FOX's news stories.

Obama didn't get in with 97% Blacks alone. There was plenty of Gays and Mexicans that voted for him too, but it was White Democrats that put him over the top. I think they expected a Democrat and not what the heck they got.

Ambrose is off the mark here, and missing the point entirely. On the Humana inc. front, it is conveniently omitted that this billion-dollar corporation is suckling at the government teat charging a premium for providing services that medicare can provide at cost.

On the Fox "news" side, there are many examples of outright lies that Fox presented as news.

There was the "terrorist fist bump"

There was the "death panel" lie.

Then it became the "soldiers death book" lie.

And everyone's favorite: the birth certificate BS.

Additionally, the newscasters, supposed purveyors of unbiased facts, promoting tea bag parties.

Entertaining? You bet.

News? Nope.

They are not prohibited from doing what they do, nor will they ever be, but they cannot force the white house to call them a news agency.

They cannot even get CNN to consider them a news agency.

Fox is a joke.

I watch Fox news some of the time - my endorphins get a boost from LOL. Actually, I like Shepard Smith and Bill O'Reilly. At least O'Reilly went to Boston University and got an advanced degree at Harvard. Hannity and Beck are self promoting entertainers. They have nothing to do with journalism. Check out C-span once in a while. Rupert Murdoch doesn't own that yet.

Look up the Illuminati and Bilderbergs. These are secret organizations that pull alot of wait in this world. Also have many countries that have already signed on to the One World Order. So, don't be caught by surprise. Nothing to worry about if your close to the Lord.

Looks like the honeymoon is over for Obama and the press. CNN said that even ABC is taking Fox's side in Obama's attempt to silence the press.
