.NO KIDDING!
How come I, being a very small business owner can pay for my own & my 2 employees health care insurance, & these people without can't get up off their lazy butts and get out & get a job of any kind & provide for themselves? If they can't get anything better than minimum wage, get your butt back in school & get educated so you can get a better job, or, join the military. I have enough to pay for!

Again what has the Federal Government ever did right? So now they are deeper in the providing medical insurance arena, which means we the people that actually care and work for a living will be forced to pay for those who are lazy and suck the system dry. This will in turn drive out private insurance companies as they can not take losses like the federal goverment will. If you need evidence, just think of all the federal government programs and name one that actually turns a profit or even breaks even... Guess what, there are not any..

I have no idea how any republican can have face and say that we prospered under the bush administration. He ran this country into the ground! The economic crisis was not Obama's fault, that was 8 years of ignorace, greed, and systematic abuse that we let happen.

Shut up you nay sayers!
You will be thankful later when all the benefits of this health care reform come to fruition for everyone!
I'm as giddy as a school boy on his first date, yea!!!!!! We got it done!!!!
The only regret is those spineless democrats that voted against the reform and voted with the republican liars to protect the insurance industry!
My hat is off to the lone republican rep from La, Cao!
He showed courage under fire, and voted his conscience to do the right thing for all Americans!
The republicans showed their true colors in voting to keep the status quo to protect their crony insurance puppeteers!
Mr. Bird, you are dead wrong, moron!
Wake up and open your eyes to see who is really on the side of the American people, pendejo!

Your ignorance leads you to insulting people... Don't get into a battle of wits, you are unarmed!!!

#1 The changes don't go into effect until 2013... Right after re-election; therefore, we won't see how bad things are really going to get until we are in it up to our chins...(not a good sign)
#2 Controlling ANOTHER industry after the banks, the car industry, is just another step towards Communism...(not a good sign)
#3 When Hugo Chavez, a communist tyrant is praising the leader of the not-so-much-more "free world", we are in trouble...(not a good sign)

What part of the REAL picture do you not see??? Stop insulting and read the fine print!!!

Why doesn't everyone stop with the Rep/Dem debate and see objectively that this bill is NOTHING about healthcare and EVERYTHING about control. Those of you who agree with this bill, you really think a bill that says 'shall' 3,000 times is democracy? Do you think that you won't pay for it one way or another? WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

Good news for all the 800,000 wealthy El Pasoans.

Thanks go out to Reyes for his support.

Americans who do not maintain acceptable health insurance coverage and who choose not to pay the bill's new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

This is the ultimate example of the Democrats' command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail.

An individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.
If the government determines that the taxpayer's unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties will apply…
Criminal penalties

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.

The best part is the anti trust exemption removal. Insurance industry had turned into a monster.

Public money should NOT be sponsoring abortion or infanticide.

All elected officials who opposed the reform should forfeit their public paid healthcare for being hypocritical. They don't mind getting free healthcare but vote to keep private insurance industries in dysfunctional control. They should be required to pay for their own insurance with private companies and put their money where their mouth is. They need to get out of public service and quit being a drain.
