Congressman Thompson voted to spend TRILLIONS of DOLLARS we don't have in a wasteful socialistic dream, he should hang his head in shame. Luckily, the bill as written by the house is dead. We need reform, not that way. Tort reform (looser pays), more healthcare savings programs, controlling drug costs in a reasonable way and allowing insurance to be purchased nationwide would go a long way towards fixing the problem. Unfortunately our leaders, both parties, don't seem capable of doing anything in a reasonable way.

I agree with you on some points. One issue I do have is that you want controlling drug cost this will never happen. Protein to make certain life saving drugs are more then 700 A gram to produce drug companys are in the business to make money not loose money. |

Defending the country is a more appropriate federal government role than providing health care. President Obama, as Commander in Chief, is in the best position to decide what US military needs to do to protect our freedoms. Although I disagree with many of his policies, I don't believe he would promote war if it weren't essential to our safety and security.
Cutting health care costs that are out of control might be a federal function. Insurance companies just follow the consumer's costs, and should not be the main target. The major need is for individuals to take care of their health by exercising, sleeping and eating properly, as well as to stop indulging in smoking, drinking, and overeating. |

I heard this same slop from the 1960 baby boomers. Result millions were killed in Cambodia when US troops were forced to cut and run when Demnocrats de-funded the war. Do us a favor, go to Canada. |
