El Paso has no jobs thanks to National RECESSION Bush dumped. EL Paso isn't immune from the bomb Bush dropped. El Paso has one of the worst private industry sectors. It only has low level minimum wage (retail economies) or telecom centers. El Paso has been in a backwoods republican time warp and it is time to move forward and quit being so isolated and myopic. The only way to create and develop an economy is to raise the health and life standards for everyone (GOP is keeping us back), alternate transportation, higher education for majority (or risk being so uncompetetive -that the citizens will be majority uneducated ), expecting the type of enviroment big cities get (not this dust bowl run down Asarco dump in the middle of a city), etc, etc. This economy won't be developed by pandering to GOP polluting industries like Cemex, Asarco,Oil. The entire city will look like China and Mexico's smoke filled air so thich you can only see across the street.

Maybe we can elect a lying Hussein to run this country.

El Paso, the Sun City does not cater to the Solar Energy Industry that could provide jobs to the area. Why Not? Would this hurt Foster or El Paso Electrics feelings? Most of the major cities in New mexico and Arizona are getting this industry and El Paso is just giving these jobs Lip Service.
El Paso is still waiting for all the troops to come to buy all the houses and shop all the stores. If they ever come, they are not going to buy all these houses they can't afford but they may shop in Walmart. Again, EP puts all it marbles into Ft. Bliss and just hopes they SHOP.
El Paso is still a city where once you mention it to somebody, they always say "Oh Yea, I have been through there". Even the better educated kids in El Paso are beginning to say that after they move out for better jobs.
So long as the city welcoming symbols is the ASARCO smoke stack on the west, and empty Farah building on the east, there will be no change in El paso.

EP financial is mess is of its OWN making. Had NOTHING to do with Bush.
Take a good and HONEST look at the city council and their decisions and let's not forget, about the wink wink attitude, as they make deals to "benefit" EP. They are not the only ones, look at the EP Hall of Shame inductees.
By the way, Acosta, we know what you meant when you asked, with a look of concern, if the free vaccine would include the, "ah, ah, rural people".

The Obama administration just released the first hard numbers on how many jobs their $787 billion stimulus package has created or saved on Recovery.gov today. The number: 30,383 jobs from roughly $16 billion worth of stimulus contracts awarded directly by federal agencies. Crunching the numbers, that comes to $533,000 per job "saved or created." To put those 30,383 jobs in perspecitve, consider that the U.S. economy lost 263,000 net jobs just last month and has lost 3.6 million net jobs since President Barack Obama was sworn into office. Brain Dead Biden says we doing great.

Don't worry, the recession is over! Unemployment is on the rise, the deficit is increasing significantly, and the recession is over! Thank you Obama! You're a hero! Somebody give that man a valid reward. How insulting, just a Nobel Peace Prize? Sheesh! I think a Medal of Honor would have been more appropriate. Or maybe a Golden Fleece? This presidency is a joke.
