A 'prestigious' place to live?

Roads are a problem.. the brick facade falling off the back of building #7 is a problem.. the water intrusion into buildings is a problem.. mold... most of the roof gutters removed.. a manager who takes advantage of and intimidates his older tenants.. how many garages has he confiscated for his personal equipment??
60 apartments x $750 =$45,000 per month =$540,000 per year!!! where is that going?? |

1 Will make some cute little apartments, for all the artist.(First we need to sell it to the friendly developers). There will be a little problem fitting everyone in the Holiday Inn. Perhaps the Porches will be available. |

this info is all very correct! in fact, they really need to up-date these apts. i was in dismay.......... the road, in and out. the thought of rent that is charged? come in!!!!

why do they not take sec. 8?i found a much nicer apt. in dalton that did! and the road is cared for!i am a single mom, not by choice & yes........ do work at bmc hospital.( 10 years) and keep a very clean place. we are quiet and love our family. so, why look down, on sec. 8? can you explain? mr. canale you have it all right! that place is not nice. i am sure, i hold much higher standards than the folks, running it! franklin courts, we would love to hear from you. thanks, n.adams for letting me vent!

I have a few dives...ooo aaa um I mean apartments for rent for cheap. If you don't like it there call me.
|
|
You really put me into perspective. You are 100% correct. |

As for the section 8 - all landlords are required to accept it.. so if Franklin Court is telling you no.. they are in violation. It would not be the first time. The owner has been in court and fined for not accepting section 8 tenants in the past.

I wonder if all these new artist lofts/apartments in North Adams will be accepting section 8? Based on what you said I guess they will have to. |
|
|
section 8 is for the lazy people who donot want to work for living and pay there bills like everyone else has too in this world
|

UNCONCERNED- NOT TO BE RUDE, OR HATEFUL BUT, HOW DO U SPEAK THIS WAY? I THINK U SHOULD BACK UP, AND READ MINE.......... I AM FAR FROM LAZY! UP AT 445A.M. AND END MY DAY AT MIDNITE! AND YOU? PLEASE BE KIND. GOD-BLESS YOU!
|
|
|
will see, how many tenants who currently reside there have a sec. 8 will keep you all informed!

as for section 8.. indeed alot of people are hard working and just need some help.. The artists lofts are condos, not rentals. do your homework and don't be so judgemental

A few years back the Transcript had a front page story about an old lady who was loseing her section 8.At first it tugged on your heart strings and then when you read the article it said she has two daughters and each of them gets section 8. Any reason they can't all live in one place and maybe work at flipping burgers to pay the rent? Why are the tax paying people being asked to provide free houseing? |

You have to be an artist and paint by numbers doesn't count so get a job you bums. |

We should be telling the starving artist the same thing. Giving someone free money cause they make less than 41,000 (because their considered starving artists) is ridiculous. Just another form of public assistance. I agree with the song, "GET A J.O.B" |

You are right. There are some that need and deserve a helping hand. Unfortunately there are so many that abuse the system. |

I would be curious to hear from anyone who has been turned down at Franklin Court because they are section 8... once again.. legaly they can't refuse it... from what I hear Section 8 will not pay the security deposit.. which is a reason that Franklin Court has few or no section 8 tenants.. just too expensive for someone struggling to get by
