There's absolutely no excuse for 200 people being injured by these storms. The National Weather Service was issuing warnings ALL DAY in this area. At some point people need to take responsibility for themselves and USE COMMON SENSE. These weren't even strong tornadoes!

I watched the video and was amazed at the number of cars that were going in the same direction as the storm chaser. Are that many drivers blind to upcoming danger?

I'm sick of the technogeekery treadmill. Part of this package, apparently video, requires Flash Player 9, which fails to install on the shared WinXP machine I use at work. So I still cannot get from this site either those videos or a map of where the towns affected are. Big lost opportunity.

Virginia is very different from the Midwest. We are used to tornado weather and can spot the warning signs. We also have tornado sirens. Tornadoes appear quickly, and in a fairly serene region like the mid-Atlantic, they were taken by surprise. Show some compassion, for heaven's sake.

I'd be willing to bet Virginia towns have warning sirens. And what's more, I'd be willing to bet they have TV'S, THE RADIO, AND THE INTERNET, all of which broadcasted warnings. No excuses.

Living in the south, the weathermen go into crisis mode for EVERY thunderstorm. Maybe so many folks didn't take shelter because it is kind of like crying wolf.

I wonder if that bozo 'Ex-Chicagoan', who was getting all his jollies from commenting on the past Chicago winter, will show up to defend the great Arkansas climate.

Although must be difficult to comment on the internet, when your home blew away.
