Is there a furniture company that has not declared bankruptcy as some point?(ex: Liquidation Sale!!! All Furniture Must Go!!!! Door Buster Sale!!! Lost Our Lease Sale!!!)

Furniture companies are not so good.

They have terrible customer service, I am not surprised they don't have the repeat customers. I was a brand new first time home buyer, buying my first room of furniture and had so many problems. I made many phone calls up the chain and they were never followed through on or returned.

I have been employed by Wickes for the last 6 years. Even on my own furniture ,purchased from Wickes, they receintly would not uphold there 1 year warranty. I was let go this morning due to the bankruptcy. Good luck current customers getting your furniture that has not yet been deleivered, Wickes also has not been paying there suppliers.

No matter what you feel about it, a good amount of people are being let go. I wish them the best of luck finding a new job.

Well, this is not surprising. I had a disaster that finally was resolved once I spoke to a Regional Manager. Still, one table had to be sent back twice for inferior quality.

Their stuff is cheap because they spend money on ads, not furniture.

Totally agree--I was a first time buyer a few years ago, as you can imagine, the crappy furniture literally broke. Never returned as I never received any phone calls back!

Needless to say, I never went back and I didn't hesitate to let anyone know what horrible furniture and company they are/were.

Based on all your mispells I can now see why issues are not resolved at their stores. The orders are probably not written correctly.

Bought from Wicks twice once in 1973 & once in 2002. Nothing but JUNK furniture,Since then I only buy from the small independant furniture seller.Better service/Better prices. And cannot stand a sales rep that follows you around like a vulture waiting for the over priced on sale bargains.Glad to see them all go under.

Wicks has used the bankrupcy
law repeatedly over the past 40
years to line their pockets. When
will someone in government finally
wake up to their abuse of this law?

It is easy to bash them when they are down...and any of you can probably find fault with any retailer. Wickes has a decent product for the price point and if they don't make it out of this, what they represent in the market will be missed. Customer Service is only as good as the people on the other end of the phone-and speaking from personal experience, some customers can never be pleased. All that complaining aside, there are a lot of good people without jobs right now-people who cared a lot about their job and had a passion for what they did. I am one of them!

I purchased a dining room table from Wickes in September and had a good experience. Just purchased a couch love the couch but customer service for delivery was terrible trying to get the time frame to coincide with my high rise building. I told them if it wasn't here by 4:30 i would cancelled they just didn't try to confirm it with me but it did get here on time. I wonder if I should send it back since there will be no warranty back-up. Any suggestions? it was delivered last Thursday.
