Only a total moron gets a pit bull. They all think it is the owner and they are the grand master dog trainer so they won't have any issues. I have one in my neighborhood and if I see it roaming loose I will run it over.

I have one and she's a joy. Only a total moron would think that only one particular breed of dog would always have the same temperament. Infact more people are bit by golden retrievers than pitbulls. Its these people that buy these dogs because they have this reputation and mistreat them that causes them to lash out. I'd kill the idiot owners who think it's ok to use these dogs for fighting and teach them to be aggressive before I'd kill the dog.

Town of Islip animal shelter has 140 dogs 100 abandoned pit bulls. Jennifer I am sure you are a lovely person, but I have never heard of a golden retrieve mauling someone(probably has happened, but not common). These dogs are missing a chromosome or something. My neighbor has one and he doesn't seem to be a bad guy, but when he walks that dog it seems like once in awhile it get interested in kids playing or other dogs and looks hard to handle. Makes everybody nervous. Come to think of it I might shoot that F'in dog myself.

You are ignorant. Pitbull attacks seem to happen in a neighborhoods where it is low income and high crime. You have punks that take take these dogs abuse them, leave them outside chained all day, intentionally don't get them fixed because they want them to be aggresive and not to mention don't bother to get them shots. The handlers intentions is to make them mean.

You get what you raise.

I'd love to know where you get ANY of your info from. It all seems very "off the cuff". Of course some breeds are more apt to bite than others. You have to look at what the breed has been used for , therefor bred towards. Dogs used for protection have hundreds if not a thousand years of selective breeding to accentuate that trait. To think all dog breeds are the same is ridiculous and dangerous. I'm a dog professional and the thought that Golden Retrievers bite more often than ANY terriers is absurd. And, there are many more Golden Retrievers owned in this country than Pits. We all know some great Pit Bulls, but it is a tough breed, like most terriers.
