FDA to re-examine safety of metal hips

Why didn't they examine them properly in the first place? Oh yeah they are too busy rubber stamping anything medical and Pharma that actual testing is too much bother. The maiming and death of thousands of consumers is to big a price to pay for real safety standards. The FDA is a joke.

The link to the article doesn't worked for me, but regardless I'm waiting to see some actions taken in regards of metal on metal implants, not just only some chit-chat over a 2 day conference. This is not an issue that appeared yesterday, it has been signaled years ago.
If I ever need hip replacement I want to know which implants are safe and which are not and I want to know this before surgery, not to receive a notification letter after two years that your hip implants have been recalled, please send in your leg.
