I am also looking forward to the opening. I'm not sure what they are trying as far as being energy efficient. Of course I'm sure as stated the newer coolers etc. are more efficient that the older ones.

If you get the Jefferson County Journal todays paper explained a little better how the store is going to be more energy efficient. I also like the fact that they have their own generator big enough to take care of all the coolers should the power go out.

That was an interesting article. I think it is interesting that the lights will go off in certain areas automatically if no one is in the areas. Great Idea.

Well this older person didn't go. In fact I haven't been there yet. I don't really like it when things are so crowded you cannot really move around. LOL kinda like the day after Thanksgiving sales. Not worth the hassle. Might make it over tomorrow.
What kind of free stuff were they handing out?

I predict it will not hurt Shop n Save, their problem will be the super wally world. Most folks know it cost more to shop at Dierbergs . Wait till they get a load of the 8.850 sales tax. I will continue to shop in Fenton. I did not agree with the I'll take and you will like it attitude.

Good point. However, Home Depot, Target and Schnucks off of Vogel did not use ED and do not have the additional sales tax. Maybe you might consider shopping there.

CC,

As I have in the past I will continue to do the majority of my shopping in Arnold. With the price of gas it would not pay me to travel to Fenton, Festus or South County. The new Dierbergs and Lowes is just another plus.
If I need something from a larger store like Sears, Macy's, Dillards, Penny's etc. then I will have to travel to So. County because sadly Arnold doesn't any of these types of stores to chose from and neither does Fenton.

Allen like all of us you are free to shop and spend your money where you want. We all have free choice.

Shirley,

Home Depot, Target and Schnucks are in Arnold. However, they will not be putting money in the developer's pockets when you shop there because they do not have the increased sales tax. Just another option.

Allen,

I was just providing other local options that did not use ED and do not have the additional sales tax. They are not part of the "I'll take and you'll like it" attitude. It all used to be farm land and was sold. I was not telling you where to shop. Like Shirley said, you are free to shop where you want as it is a free world.

Shirley your right I may be free to shop but there were many in the triangle that did not get a free choice. The council teamed up with a developer and took from their own citizens. I will not support that type of behavior. They might be giving away free milk and bread up there for all I know. That mound of dirt around that dentist is like a pickett line for me and reminds me each time I drive by why I will not shop there.
