Please please keep the unions out of this place.

I work in a wharehouse in Bethlehem & the only thing that has kept this company around for 5 yrs was the fact that they are locked into a contract. Are you willing to work for $7-$10 an hr? Thats what you will get without a Union. I'm VERY willing to pay $36 a month for protection from abuse by management. Here come the Illegal's & work release subjects to take blue collar unemployed jobs! Oh yeah who's gonna pay for your health care? Sure as H***l is'nt gonna be the company. You pay 80% they pay 20%. Go ahead fill out an app. stupid! |

No unions. Looks where Steel and Mack, etc... are now.
So how's that hope and change working out for ya? |

Do you honestly think you should be making more than $10 an hour for working in a warehouse where all you do all day is load and unload trucks? Typical Union headcase. I don't need to fill out an application. I have a job where my education and job performance depict what I get paid. I am not under a union where some idiot off the street can make as much as me when he walks in the door with no experience. Just like the other poster said, look where all the popular companies are today because of Unions. Everyone is laying off because they can't afford to pay the inflated pay rates. They can't afford to fund the outrageous pensions put in place. Look what it's doing to the school systems in this state. Yeah, unions are the answer. It protects delinquents and losers. Time for this country to punish the lazy jackoffs who don't support this country. |

Hmmm You sound like one of those PRIMA DONNA WHINEY TEACHERS!!! I bet your really a Teacher from Saucon Valley..You obviously are confused ..I can think of several that make much more than what you claim that are non-union.... |
My real question is ..How many years are they TAX EXEMPT?????
Hiring 200 within next three years....? Ten times that will lose jobs in that time. Not much help, is it?

I dont have to explain myself to anyone but I make over $20hr & work 60+ hrs a week. Full medical/dental & vision. I do more than just load and unload trucks. Im not a kiss A88 jump the fence when its convienent jerk. I have been there over 15yrs. I dont have to kiss my bosses a**. But I do my job with quality & effort, This is not the old school Union that most uneducated think of. sO I GUESS I DID EXPLAIN MYSELF!!!! Freedom of speech!

20 bucks an hour in a warehouse. Now I know why food costs so damn much. Thank you for your inflated unionized labor. Besides, there are plenty of websites and newspaper articles to read on how the unions are a cancer to this country. If someone is uneducated about unions, it's only because they haven't read about them yet. What other tedious tasks could you get involved with in a warehouse? Computers organize everything these days, so I know you aren't hand counting inventory anymore. Fork trucks aren't the death traps they used to be, also most are equipped with computerized GPS inside the warehouses so you can find product quicker. It just doesn't add up. Why is there even a need for a union in a warehouse environment? When I started working years ago a warehouse was considered a stepping stone on your way to a real job. I just hope they can keep the union infestation out of this new center. I won't hold my breath. |

The question remains. Would you work in a wharehouse for $7hr? Yeah... The reason food cost so much is because I make $20 bucks an hr. Hahahahaha. I dont even work with food. Youre a moron just like the rest of the "pubs". I'm sure Limbaugh & Beck will let you into heaven when you pass.
People need jobs! Why are you calling them stupid if they fill out an application? People now a days will take anything they can get. |
This is a good thing that new jobs will be coming, but hte said part about companies such as this, it seems as though they will employ more hispanics then whites....blacks or asians.
They (the hispanics) get the new jobs at these new companies they get hires wether they can speak english or not, or these companies will hire if your bilingual, that pisses me off! If you want to work & live in this country then learn to APEAK ENGLISH DAMIT! |

Your sentence structure is that of a grade school child. You also didn't spell,"the", "whether", "SPEAK", or "DAMMIT", correctly and you complain about people speaking English. I know it's a little "Forum Cop" of a post, but pointing out the obvious is more important. |

I have been a Union member for 18 years..Unions were founded to protect workers from company abuse and greed.I am a hard working member of my workforce. My pay isn't grossly inflated and my benefits are average. Some of these postings that are anti-union are ludicrous!!I don't have a glorious pension either. The Steel and Mack were all doomed by cheap foreign labor, materials and imports. Some companies need unions to protect the workers SAD BUT TRUE !!

Hey Carbide I can see you know nothing about warehousing.Mine is ultra modern and we still do physical inventories and manual order picking processes for our customers..There are approximately 8 different types of equip. you must be trained, licensed and certified to use.To say all we do is load and unload trucks is ignorant.I would like to see you crash some of the machines we operate as true professionals !!We also have annual re-cert on euipment and monthly safety training..What do you do?????
Agreed, 200 new jobs doesnt seem like much on the surface. Hopefully those positions will provide insurance benefits, a decent living wage, and retirement plans. Those 200 new positions will help provide some consumer cash into the local economy, too. But its so little..just glad that it is good news, at least.
Right now if youre unemployed it is a barren wasteland out there.

Now that's a good one, operating a tow-motor is a job only for a professional? We have an 18 year old kid at our shop who operates an H300 Hyster all the time. He moves large weldments and castings into our machine shop. Not once has he crashed it. I've also operated that beast, it's not hard at all. I can tell by your name you are a harley guy. Did you see what the unions are doing to that place? Driving prices up, making demands the company can't match. Another American company being picked clean by greed. What you do in a warehouse is not rocket science. Anyone can do it, it's a stepping stone to much more complex jobs in this world. It's almost too silly to think about. |
LOL!!!! Ultra Modern huh?? Gee that means you have computers on the equipment telling you what to do and where to go with it.. All the while there is a Supervisor sitting in a office watching you "dots" as you move around the warehouse and they are telling "YOU" what to do.. Now is the time for your reality check "A MONKEY can be trained to follow instructions on the job .. Furthermore your days are numbered in the warehousing industry more and more FULLY AUTOMATED warehousing is coming online .. So in your language YOUR FIRED!!! and have been replaced by a COMPUTER!!! Oh BTW... There's a "Q" in equipment LMAO!!!!!! Yeah your well trained!!! LOL!!!! |
I doubt it. Look what the unions did to Mack trucks and Bethlehem steel? As far as health care, get into the real world. Everyone has to pay towards their healthcare. Buy the way, what happens after 5 years and your contract runs out? Does that mean a strike? Well if that is the case. Your company may choose to move to another state. As far as 36 dollars a month. I rather have that money in my pocket than to line union officials pockets. And to support policies that I do not disagree with. |
