Without a firm timeline as to when he will release documents, he is just continuing his stall tactics.

Maybe it has something to do with the federal grand jury investigation of Countrywide that has been initiated.

This coupled with the article about his campaign contributions, makes Dudd look like a bum...He should do one thing, give back the money he took in salaries from the U.S. government, while on the campaign trail in Iowa, give back the money he has recieved in perks and campaign contributions from Counrtywide, and then he should resign his chair at the Banking Commitee for conflict of interest, and, for dipping his fingers in the cheese dip... It would be interesting to know what his debt to income ratio was, as well as his credit score when he got these deals. It would also be interesting to know what personal pay he recieved from his Campaign for President while he was recieving money from the Senate. The other day, I heard him criticize Pres Bush for "Not being on the job"...How arrogant to criticize someone for something he has made an artform...Getting paid to one thing while doing the other...

Dodd must presume that the public is naive for him to say that "he didn't know the special treatment was related to his Senate position as banking committee chairman." Why else did those in the mortgage industry with something to gain from favorable legislation not only cater to him but contribute to his campaign? Although he claims "I just want to make sure we have a full picture" before talking further, his repeated denials before he finally admitted that he did receive special treatment speak for themselves. No matter what Dodd says now, we already now that he is disingenuous.

Perhaps its subpoena time ... the good senator is not in a very good bagaining position. He will not turn over documents relating to his mortgage company profit until a bill is signed which bails out said mortgage company? Is the Justice Department just as amused as I am?

Why Dudd? This issue is over, as far as the Courant is concerned. It was mere negligence on your part, the Courant has told us to move on. There's no story here. What's the matter, too many constituants aren't buying what you and the Courant have to say on the subject? Internal polls looking a bit grim? No VP for Dudd? Oh, the sadness of it all!!

His announcement comes on the heels of the Waterbury Republican-American's editorial today documenting what the LOAN OFFICER had to say about Dodd and his wife DEFINITELY BEING INFORMED of their special deal.

Unbelievable, laughable..."Oh, I'll release all the info, there's not much to the story"--but STILL NO RELEASE...

He's only throwing out a red herring trying to distract the REAL news gatherers in Connecticut.
