What kind of sweetheart deal is this? Hush money and a free house in exchange for Richardson's vote on the housing bailout bill? FBI and U.S. Attorneys where are you? If she were a Republican she'd be tarred and feathered. Looks like she has three get-out-of jail cards--black, female and Democrat.

Richardson, as a freshman on the hill, has already proven that she is exactly what we DON'T need representing us.

This deal smacks of corruption. Richardson lives in Long Beach and works in DC so there's no sensible reason why she needs burdensome property in Sacramento. Her financial credit stinks so Washington Mutual would be foolish to make her one of their borrowers again.

I think the US Attorney would like to see a copy of the revised loan agreement between Washington Mutual and Laura Richardson. I guess we'll be told it was oral with nothing on paper.

This whole affair is repulsive. It just goes to show you that not only is Laura Richardson unethical, she's stupid to boot. Now she's got 3 properties she can't pay for instead of 2 and nearly 10K in unpaid property taxes back in her lap.Don't forget her rental apartment in DC, that's not cheap. Yeah, this is the person we want having a vote on the federal budget.

I bet the neighbors are thrilled that she's got ownership again, so she can go back to failing to maintain the place and filling the garage with garbage.

WaMu goofed, and Richardson managed poorly - just like a couple MILLION other people with sub-prime loans who could not keep them up.
