I have a pair that I purchased at Foot Solutions in the US. I wear them all the time, unless I am dressing up for the evening with boots or heels. I was told by the manager of the store that Chung Shi was coming out with some different styles (really different colors, I think) for the spring/summer.

Curved shoes are nothing new in the evolution of footwear. The Chung Shi is just another "curved" shoe that is very expensive considering what it does for you.

MBT's five layer sole with its unique Masai Sensor reestablishes natural rolling motion of walking & standing, improving posture, toning muscles, reducing stress on knees, hips & back and increasing circulation and respiration.

People often ask me why I only like MBT and not the Earth Shoe, Chung Shi, Fit Flops and other curved footwear. In the 1970s when Earth shoes hit the market they were a groundbreaking phenomena. In the 1980s NIKE introduced its revolutionary AIR technology and at the beginning of this decade MBT launched its physiological footwear, uniquely inducing the natural conditions of running, walking and standing through its five layer sole and Masai Sensor technology. MBTs are true physiological footwear. Curved shoes like Earth Shoes, Chung Shi and Fit Flops are decent, but nothing new and pioneering like the MBT.

I get my MBTs at www.FeetFirstFitness.com which has great fitting guidance and excellent technical information that shows how the MBT is much superior to footwear that is just curved like the Chung Shi.

When standing for a long time and get "tired" of balancing in the middle, is it best to lean back on the heel or foward?

Lacking the Masai Sensor, products like the Chung Shi, FitFlop and Spring Boost are nothing new in the industry and in fact are only a small step forward from the Earth shoes in the 1970s.

Recently many people are being misled by Foot Solutions stores to believe that the Chung Shi is even comparable to the MBT. All consumers need to be properly informed of the truth, as inconvenient as it may be to these Foot Solutions stores.

Thank you to the person who pointed out the www.FeetFirstFitness.com site that clearly demonstrates how the MBT is superior to these curved shoes like Chung Shi.

In addition, the following is an excellent link to test that was done this month in the UK that clearly demonstrates the superiority of the MBT over the Chung Shi:

I just bought a pair of Chung Shi's from my local Foot Solutions retailer. They also sell MBT's, but the lisenced foot pathoilogist, whi is board certified, told me, and backed it up with article after articel from medical journals, that the Chung Shi is better than the MBT. Newer technology, backed by the EU, better all around. I am really excited about them, especially since you can run in them and they do not weight a ton.

I just went to the local Foot Solutions store (Sept. 2007) and did a side by side comparison of Chung Shi and MBT. They only had the lower version of the MBT but against the lower version of the CS, I felt I was getting a better workout with the CS. I ultimately purchased the higher version of the CS. Two caveats: the CS has a longer tongue which can dig in to the front of the ankle. Just tie them looser and wear ankle sox. Also, standing on your toes in the CS can cause fatigue on the toes. If CS can come up with some more attractive designs, that would be great.

I own and operate a Foot Solutions store. I'm a Certified Pedorthist. I sell both Chung Shi & MBT shoes. I wear both shoes. I love both shoes. I recommend both shoes for similar reasons. Most people who come into our store can benefit from each shoe. However I DO NOT recommended the MBT's for people with balance or vertigo problems. There is a risk of falling due to the soft "biscuit" in the heel (sensor which shouldn't be exposed to chemicals, fertilizers ect...) I've found most of my customers (70%) that can wear both choose the Chung Shi. Chung shi's are a 2000 mile shoe! Also, The MBT's CAN be resoled(approx $50-$75 call Foot Solutions).
