Don't ever waste your money to see her live anyway. I bought tickets to see her last January at the Hampton Convention Center. She didn't cook, the few treats were already made, probably by the center folks. All she did was talk. I didn't pay this much $$ to just hear her talk, she was supposed to cook too.

Amen! I was there too. The brownies were burnt and the food was terrible. I was really disappointed.

It was probably all the onions and garlic in the brownies. These people cant cook without a ton of onions and garlic. We call it the onion and garlic network at my house.

You didnt pay money to see Paula Dean, it was a fundraiser for the food bank. Unfortunately, you would have never made that "contribution" had there not been someone to see. She said she didnt cook. She said you could see her cook seven days a week on tv. She wanted to chat with the audience. Sorry you thought SHE was going to make the food. I hate to break the news to ya, but Ronald McDonald does not make your big mac and Wendy knows nothing about pouring a frosty.

Oh my God I didnt want to give you a heart attack or a stroke. Lighten up a little. The Food bank thing was nice but you need to know that I give $20.00 in food each week to my food bank at church. So going to the event to just give to the food bank was not why I went. Please make sure that you have a longer fuse before reading these blogs. Again I did not want to light your short fuse.

It looks like the tourism office in Smithfield put the cart in front of the horse and that Ms. Winslow spoke before having all the facts

Wow, I take off work to come see my idol after reading about her PUBLIC appearance from Mrs. Winslow's interview. Let me get this right. She is the tourism director and she can't get her facts straight about a event being open to the public or not?

This is not fair to say this.. I am sure the tourism director of Smithfield has a lot of her plate. Anyone can get facts wrong sometimes. LOL NOT!!! She call's herself the director?

Hey, Mrs. Winslow when is the next open house at White tail park? Is that public? Can you get that right in the newspaper?

Because the town Smithfield will get much needed tourism, and the director of tourism might need to cook another worlds largest ham biscuit and put it in the parade!

Just a few points. One, this is only the second subject that I have EVER commented on on this blog. Perhaps if you have a stalking hater... the common factor is you not me.

Second, you spoke as if you were mislead about the Paula Deen appearance on behalf of the FoodBank. You were the one that was angry about the program. My attempt was to remind you that she is just a persona. Perhaps YA'LL are the ones who need to lighten up.

If you are going to share your opinion be prepared for folks to share right back whether you like it or not.

Lastly, I am glad that the Daily Press keeps a running tally of how many comments folks make. Just remember "louder is not righter."
