Chalk that up to the attorneys - they started it because they are money hungry bottom feeders that won't let the chance go by to make an easy buck.

Well I was one of the people who got sick (for over a week) from it. My doctor couldn't figure it out until I heard about the recall. And I had ulra sounds, CAT scans etc.... So someone should pay for that.

Yeah, not to mention the worry I went through wondering if my 7 year old had Crohne's Disease or something else equally frightening, since he has had all the symptoms of salmonella poisoning for OVER 2 MONTHS NOW...I have cleaned up gallons of vomit, been awakened in the night to being puked on, changed bedclothes almost every day for almost 2 months now........laugh if you will, belittle the participants of the class action lawsuits being filed, but let's see what happens when it's your kid, when he misses so many days of school because of it that there had to be a truancy hearing with the school board, when you can't sleep at night because you are afraid your child will vomit in his sleep and choke on it. I certainly don't expect a million dollar settlement but compensation for missed days of work, copays for doctor visits, etc. would be nice, not to mention my son who has cried almost every night because his stomach hurt.

My responsibility as a consumer is to check each food container for expiration date and if there is any damage to the packaging. In addition, it is my responsibility to check that date before I prepare it as who really remembers when and how long it has been in the pantry since purchase. Conagra is not new to recalls for their many products. Sick? You bet! AND I was eating toast with peter pan on it in an effort to stop the nausea, barfing, PAIN, cramps, etc. I recently had stomache and colon surgery and all the doctors were crazy trying to figure this out. I was eating this crap when the news came on tv. Again, Conagra is not new at recalls of their product line. Shame on them. Where is their responsibility to the consumer?

I too thought it was a symptom from something else going on that I eventually had surgery for, but looking back it was the Peter Pan I do believe. But after the lawyers all get their fees we will end up with a free jar of product!

As a former employee of the S.C. Bar, I can attest to the fact that there are some who will sue for exhorbitant amounts simply because someone farts in an elevator. There are others who are all too ready to jump on the lawsuit bandwagon if they think they can get some money from it (yes, I can name names and law firms as well).

Having said that, if ConAgra were smart they would happily pay the medical bills that were a direct result of the tainted product. Sadly, they aren't that forthcoming because of the people who seek to gouge them for their own pockets.

And, it is because of those greedy individuals that many us will criticize those seeking legitamite claims, believing, however mistakenly, that it's all for profit.

If your claims are legitamite, I hope you receive all you deserve. If you are attempting to profit from the unfortunate event, I hope you drop dead.

I am in awe after reading some of these messages. My young daughter has been very sick since August 06 with what we thought was a really bad virus or disease. Dehydration, nausea, vomitting, and stomach pain. Turned into acid reflux, gastritis, delayed motility, bile in stomach, colitis, allergies to foods, and 30 pounds of weight loss! Till this very day she is still battling all of the above symptoms and being treated with 9 different medications. We had been giving her the peanut butter to put weight back on her and the whole time making her sicker. She has been hospitalized for weeks at a time, several surgery procedures and had no idea it would be the PB causing her digestive system to stop working! The specialist were all baffled and now we know why! Does anyone really know what happens to a childs organs who has been eating poison on a continuous basis? WEll MY DAUGHTER DOES! She missed over 6 months of her first year in middle school, she has so many food allergies including dairy, she can not ride her horses because of the motion making her vomit,(which was her life) she is 5 ft. tall and only weighs 70 pounds, she cannot eat more than a handful at once without feeling so full she will be sick, she is in constant stomach pain with either constipation or diarreah! What kind of life is this for a child who has never even been on an antibiotic her whole life? Please save your opinions and judgements for when it is you or your own child going through this tragedy! Her life has been altered due to someone elses negligence! This is not just a week of symptoms and then it is out of your system and its gone.... this has been a daily ritual for us for 10 months now and we are probably going to the emergency room for more IV's before the night is out! PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK! If you are not walking in the shoes than how would you even know what to do? No amount of money is going to give my daughter's body the nutrients it can no longer absorb on it's own, it will not heal her intestines, esophogus, colon, nor will it erase the pain of numerous surgeries and procedures taking biopsies from her head to toe! It will not give her back her childhood or her child like faith that she is going to be okay! Things like this DO HAPPEN ON PURPOSE, some people just don't care about others and it is the greed of just taking a job instead of finding a career in something you are good at and really do care about! Con Agra needs to be shut down and never be allowed to sell a product to anyone! I have 3 jars of tainted pb that I sent to a private lab and I would be glad to send it to you free of charge to finish it off!

We had two 6 lb. tubs of Peter Pan bought at Sam's Club during the "crisis" and have never felt better. I can't wait to buy more and help keep these good people working. You can bet it will be the safest food in the world after all that has happened.
